Yes, the green tower is City Hall, the lower portion that you can just see a bit of is red. I took that from the baseball fields on the old portion of Scholl Canyon landfill, it's up Glenoaks in Glendale. I just got back from there this evening.

As you can see there are actually two decals. (I accidentally cropped one off in the larger pic.)

That says Gilmore(top) and Gasoline (bottom). No doubt a version of this logo for Gilmore Blu-Green Gasoline, with a lion in the center:

I had planned to post a seasonal picture, but Photobucket's completely inaccessible at the moment, so I'll have to wait until I'm able to log in again (probably sometime in March at the rate their maintenance team is working!).

The aerial below was taken almost exactly three years later, but still shows the space between the building and the sidewalk where the tree stood. This space was lost when the streets were widened/realigned.

If I didn't have so many pictures there, I'd have moved hosts long ago. To be fair, this is the first outage I remember since the site was taken over, but it's lasted over a week!

Although they used the real CHP building (now replaced) at 777 W Washington Boulevard in 'CHiPs', I don't recognize this location. The current CHP Communications Center is at 2901 W Broadway, and that's not the building in the photo either.

Lwize, I am not sure if your idea of old school Chinese food is the same as mine, but when I want old-school Chinese food, I head to Won Kok in Chinatown. Their food is exactly like the Chinese food my parents used to bring home in the 1970s. They serve all of the old American-Chinese classics that you can't find anywhere else anymore, such as Egg Foo Yung.

Your mileage may vary, but to my taste buds at least, this stuff is identical to the Chinese food you used to get “back in the day”. And I took my mom to Won Kok before she died, and she fully agreed with my assessment.

I want to say this place was in Anaheim on Magnolia south of La Palma. As a teenager in the 70's, I joined the CB craze and got one installed in my 1965 Biscayne. As I recall, the store looked a lot like this.

I think you're right, e_r. The space I took to be the intersection is more likely to be the bridge over the creek. The building you highlighted at 2766 S La Cienega has a build date of 1949, but there's a smaller structure at roughly the same location on this March 4, 1941 aerial. Davis Bros' original workshop is just below the center. There's also a 1951 view available, but the resolution isn't nearly as good.
