First off, any asshole who apologizes "if" the women "felt" offended (or uncomfortable, or disrespected) is a condescending prick. It suggest that SHE is the problem, and not HIM. It is not a true apology. If anyone has watched the recent season of "Survivor" with that creep Dan, you'll know what I'm talking about.

He ran for school board trustee and lost. The guy who lost to Menard is Anthony Carricato. But guess what, he's also on Transit Commission.
Ironically, Menard is not on Transit Commission (even though he listed it as his priority).
I'm kinda baffled how Sarah Wright-Gilbert got in there after Watson's rigorous selection process.

Right, that guy. Watson's FU to Menard was to appoint his opponent to the Transit Commission and not him.

Michael Olson is pro-life and a climate change denier, which explains why he wanted to cancel the EV Bus order (to prop-up the bus service while we had the issues with Line 1) and made that sexist comment to Wright-Gilbert today.

Actually there's a lot of cities that have explicit rules banning food and drink on busses and trains, but OC Transpo doesn't have any. I bring coffee on a train all the time, and with a bunch of Happy Goats due to open in various stations you'll see more of it.

I've seen people on sparsely-populated trains of late putting their coffee or other beverage on the vacant seat next to them. Try that on a bus.

I'm assuming this is at off-peak times? Because I keep hearing folks complain about how the trains are too packed at peak periods.

The trains are barely full in the off-peak. Which is not surprising; the old Transitway used to average about 5 minute frequencies or so in the off-peak (same frequency as the train) and it would usually fill a single artic up to full capacity; so that would mean filling a train to only one-sixth capacity.

No problems with my morning or evening commute. Train got super cold at Tunney's given it sat at the station for 2-3 minutes with the doors open but it was a seamless trip for me at least.

I am really happy to see things calming down with the breakdowns and delays. Makes me much more excited to see phase 2 come to fruition.

Where did you get this idea? There's coffee shops at GO and TTC stations all over Toronto/GTA.

Today I wondered when sitting at a terminus why they wouldn't close the doors and shift to press-to-open functionality.

Heat seems to be performing unevenly: some cars I've ridden have been fine, others frigid.

And there's a noticeable difference in the train sounds since the cold snap started. Hearing a strange thunk-thunk-THUNK-thunk-thunk-THUNK rhythm to the wheels (?) that I haven't heard before.

But contrary to popular belief, trains run in winter.
