There is a new billboard up at the former Danny's site on Riverside for a new red brick office building. It is being developed by Mid South which seems to be on fire lately!

If you remember this site was formerly going to be redeveloped by Cheetah's owner Rob Katzman who owned Danny's and the land previously.

Mid South is responsible for the Fish Market building reno, the former Cadillac Jack's reno, Chatham Street grill, and The Pour House.

I dont blame ya. All signs of that development at Tuscarora & Goyeau have dissapeared. Secondly we've heard nothing about that 16 storey building that was proposed for Park & Victoria.

This is great news for air quality in the Windsor area! US Steel is basically shutting down their operations at Zug Island in metro Detroit. It is the worst air pollution offender in the region.

Yeah, I’m definitely not overly optimistic about the Park and Victoria development, but I’m still holding out for this to go through somehow. We are in desperate need for new highrise residential in the core, especially with the area growing at 5000 per year.

Looks like the casino might have a new operator in the future.

Caesar's is included in OLG's procurement process for modernization. They're looking for a new long-term service provider to operate the casino in 2023. I'm assuming that the "modernization" aspect of this is only related to the operations of the casino, but there's no reason that this couldn't include some exterior renovations or construction.

Caesar's looks pretty rough around the edges these days, and could absolutely benefit from some TLC.

Caesar’s looks much better since they power washed both hotel towers this spring, before that they looked pretty grungy.

I highly doubt there will be any other operator taking Caesar’s over any time soon, since they have a very loyal following and are still very profitable.

Highway 3 expansion to Leamington has been listed in the new Southwestern Ontario Transportation Plan. Hopefully this finally is able to get off the ground. With the 401 widening from Tilbury to London going ahead, this seems more likely to happen as well.

Why not just turn County Road 18 between Highways 3 & 77, S Talbot Road into the westbound lanes of Highway 3 and twin the remainder? If reconstructing those 2 roads to provincial standard doesn’t cost too much, I can see saving.

That seems like it would make things needlessly complicated. I believe most of the ROW is already protected around the non-twinned section of Highway 3 anyway, and a significant amount of it is wide enough to accomodate another 2 lanes with a grass median.

New development planned for Sandwich Town at Mill and Sandwich. The development is located on what is currently the site of numerous abandoned buildings and The Barrel House restaurant.

The Barrel House will remain untouched. An 8 storey apartment building will be constructed on the eastern end of the lot set back from the street, on what is currently a fenced off patch of grass and an abandoned building. A 2-3 storey residential building will be constructed along Sandwich, with ground level retail. A 2 storey residential building will be constructed on Mill behind The Barrel House. Parking lots will fill the empty space. These apartments will be marketed to students.

Windsor’s metro population to get a big bump in 2021 when the Leamington CA is added to the Windsor CMA, adding approximately 52K to the 355K current 2019 estimated population, pushing it over the 400K mark, a pretty big milestone!

The metro still grew by 1.7%, which is the Canadian average, so not really bad news at all.

Figured you guys would appreciate this. It's incomplete (I still have a lot to model on the Windsor side) but it shows how the skyline will look across the river in the future. I hope we will get some tower proposals in the near future that I can add to the Windsor side!
