Really excited about this neighbourhood. Good job, Westbank. Also looking forward to them partnering with the Squamish nation to build another similar neighbourhood at the bottom of Burrard Bridge.
Too bad they didn't paint the underside of the ramps white or something to help make the space appear a bit cleaner and brighter. Other than that the space under looks good.

Agreed to make the space cleaner and brighter, but white paint on bridge infrastructure concrete usually doesn't look too good, especially when milder or mold grows on it. I was also hoping that they would place those vine cages around the columns to create some vertical greenery.
I can see the infamous Vancouver House chandelier from my condo so for lack of anything better to do tonight I decided to watch it from the comfort of my unit. About 20-30 hearty souls braved the wet, cold night and gathered below the bridge, cellphones ready, but nothing happened. Watched from 8:45 to 9:15 when the disappointed crowd dispersed. Shame on the developer for not keeping their new artwork operational for even a few weeks.

there certainly is a lot of conduit running up that pillar. that's for sure.
also, since this is a public art contribution. wouldn't this be similar to the tree on that West End building where they need to keep this thing working as a condition of their permit? considering this was the contribution for 4 of their projects, they cant just let this go into disrepair, can they? if so, they got away pretty good while the city/people got screwed.
