Maybach Construction is proposing to construct a 6 storey apartment building with 36 dwelling units, 70 m2 of common space and 43 m2 of office space at 337 Montgomery Street in Ottawa. The property is located at intersection of Montgomery St. on the South west side and Selkirk Street on North side.

1st storey– 1 Res. Unit, Commercial space 70 m2, Office 43 m2
2nd storey – 8 Res. Units
3rd storey – 9 Res. Units
4th storey - 9 Res. Units
5th storey - 9 Res. Units – 7 c/w Loft + 2 no Loft
It occurs to me that the floor plan with the long corridor from the front door might appeal to an art collector. Most modern condos lack wall space. Although most buyers would probably just feel they were paying for wasted square footage.
I preferred the original proposal, but this one is fine as well.
Since it's closer to M+M three tower complex, I think it has a good chance of being approved. And it's only two kilometers from the nearest O-Train station you know!
I much prefer this new version and design , SerCo has been doing some great projects all around Ottawa.
I like the irregular shape, the balcony design, and brown/wood accents. I also think the height and density here is warranted. With so many proposals and projects going on around the Montreal/Vanier Parkway/McArthur node this has the potential to be the best high density/revitalized part of Vanier. Its close proximity to Rideau street and downtown probably plays a big part of it too.
Serco is proposing to redevelop the subject site at 337 & 345 Montgomery Street and 94 Selkirk Street with a twenty-storey, residential-use building containing a total of 203 residential apartment units, 76 underground parking spaces, 134 bicycle parking spaces, and 2028m2 of private and communal amenity space. The building proposal includes a mix of studio, one and two-bedroom units. The existing buildings on the subject property will be demolished in preparation for redevelopment.
Very nice! Vanier is finally coming along. I've heard people say it's the 'next Westboro or Hintonburg' for twenty years but it's actually happening. West of the parkway, at least...
