this entire land is part of the project and architects are Foster+Partners, KPMB, Claude Cormier+ Associates and SHoP Architects. architect for the particular building is SHoP.

Reminds me of City Place's skybridge. Looks like a cool skygarden though. I'm always skeptical of those ever materializing as it is usually the first thing to be cut to save money.

I wonder if we should expect the other designs soon. Those towers will seem very isolated by themselves. No transit except the 72a bus, no grocery unless they walk 1 km to Loblaws, and no shops or restaurants unless they walk under the Gardiner and railway to the Distillery.

Cherry streetcar loop is about 200m away.

Grocery and other retail will fix itself eventually. Fort York worked out alright despite having a much longer hike to the Liberty Village Metro for ~15 years, and they've got Distillery and Corktown within a 5 minute walk. It's not ideal, but it's still pretty decent for a pedestrian.

Aquavista's retail is designed for a small grocery store. The building finished this year. There could be a grocery store by this time next year. It's still a walk and an unpleasant one until the community is built.

MoDA posted on our SRC project page stating "The project is still in the DP stage with multiple stakeholders. We're hoping to break ground next fall."

They haven't been slouches in getting their shit done so far, so I see no reason to doubt them.

Hasn't brick inlaid precast been around for a while ?
I haven't heard about any horror stories regarding durability.

Ah...yes. That still hurts. Although, to be fair, the finished product is looking a lot better than expected. Not good, mind you...just better.

I sort of like it, although it might just be the novelty. Kinda reminds me of the 80s era Memphis Group aesthetic but without the bright colours. Although I think I might like it more if it had some additional contrast to it. Maybe not 80s bright colours, but some black/white/silver etc..

Glass isn't the issue. The overuse of cheap window wall and standard SSG curtain wall is.

There's just way too much red brick here. The late 80s PoMo elements don't do anything to lighten the load. The Winnipeg tower is at least white.

The red brick in the rendering appears as the same style of brick (i couldn't tell you the name) as on a hundred proposal. We'll get sick of its overuse too. We did with the charcoal version of this style brick.
