The Jasper 123st tower is at Council right now, should sail through.

Expected ground-breaking is June 2020.

Honestly, I'm amazed someone is taking a risk on that location.
It's right across, from arguably, the worst residential high rise in Edmonton. Though I know it's been cleaned up somewhat.
Change for the area has to start somewhere, so it's great to see a group be the the start.

Oliver RA9 proposal on 123st/103ave unanimously rejected at Council. Of note, the City just did a comprehensive redo of the RA9 so that folks don't have to DC2 all of the time and then recommended going DC1 or DC2 at the hearing.

What gives?!

Because we need to protect the 'sacred character' of inner Oliver of course!

I'm glad the Urban China is finally being replaced.
But where is the hotel's drop-off entrance?

Haven't you seen the other 100+ hotels in the EDM area that ALL look identical to this? This is actually better. I think you are actually meaning to say "not good enough for DT?" If so, agreed sort of...for the outskirts of DT....this is fine...especially compared to the post apocalyptic waste land that surrounds it.

The drop off entrance / porte cochère is around back off of the alley.

The original render was way better, this is kind of disappointing.

Hope the building across gets demoed in the near future.

Better make that parkade with over 7' clearance. Could you imagine the rage of driving into the city, not having your truck fit in the parkade and having to leave it parked on a street in that area?
