When I return to Canada, I'm hoping to make Edmonton my home. That being said, I'm not familiar with the city. Where are "bad" neighbourhoods and where are decent ones? Looking to get a home in a decent neighbourhood but don't want to wind up in a some slum without knowing it. Bear in mind that originally I'm from Winnipeg and I've never had the impression that Edmonton has "bad" areas by comparison. Can anybody give me some tips?

Google streetview can give you a general 'feel' for the neighbourhood.
This site can provide you a 60 day (or less) summary of crimes in the neighborhoods you are interested in.
Also,
this is 2016 data, but Edmonton's open data catalogue maps the city neighbourhoods by census data, including average income, age...
