Taller than Icon so it's definitely over 400 feet. Probably between 450-500ft.

I just don't understand the height obsession, taller buildings will come when the demand is there - keep it up with density and walkability I say! And I still think DT is where those will hit first.

This project is awesome

We are not Chicago or New York yet - and all Miami's tall buildings are ugly condos lol, no thanks

We all get that, but there's no need to be overly critical of those us (myself included) who have been hoping for something really tall for, now, decades. Atlanta's tallest were built in the early 1990's, we're talking going on 30 years ago by now. We all love the infill, and the densification, and the increases in urbanity and walkability, but, at the same time, I'd love to see something really tall. This is a skyscraper forum, after all. I hope I'm not six feet under by the time a new tallest for Atlanta rolls around.
edited to add: for many years Atlanta could claim to have the nation's tallest skyscraper outside of NYC & Chicago. In recent years however we've now been passed up by Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

I don't mean to sound critical, but it confounds me that if a building isn't 800ft it's terrible. Look I love tall buildings and this is the skyscraper forum, I get it.

Would you agree that the tall buildings built back in the 90s were a bit early for our development and city population/density?

I'm not sure...I don't think so, inasmuch as they were trophy towers for corporate headquarters. I do know that big chunks of the NationsBank tower were vacant in the decades after construction, I don't know if they still are.

I love all the infill...but, it's high time for another really tall one...lord knows we've been waiting long enough. Maybe another really tall one isn't in Atlanta's future...but as I alluded to above, I ain't getting any younger waiting around for one!

I'd love another tall, prominent building. 1125 Peachtree and whatever replaces Opus will be great additions. The density is happening anyway.

I wish this statement was accurate so badly... Austin, yes, but Nashville? We may have a ton of highrise construction, but for whatever reason even getting over 500 feet seems to be a stretch. *Sigh*

Midtown has the lower FAR to limit building size and Downtown isn’t hot enough. People want to live in Midtown, out of the two, so that’s where more construction is happening, including corporate headquarters.

I was mistaken on Nashville. There was a forum post about an 800 foot proposal that I saw, but that was lowered to 520 feet. So, yes, you’re in the same boat with the dozens of 20-32 story buildings being built.

I don’t mind it at all. Would rather turn Atlanta into a much more urban, walkable city than have 5 new 900 foot buildings surrounded by dingy old parking lots, but just 1 tall building would be nice.
