Canada exported 34 million tonnes of coal and imported 7.6 million tonnes

Canada's exports are primarily metallurgical coal (97% in 2018).

1 ton of thermal coal produces 2.86 tons of CO2 equivalent. Even if 100% of out exports was thermal coal, it still wouldn't hit your number.

You taking the Sierra Club at face value is probably the funniest thing I've read in a while.
