What an early start to winter across Canada this year!

Calgary to Banff and down to Lethbridge are under a snowfall warning as we speak with 10-20cm on the way , Winnipeg has the entire long range forecast below freezing, Southern ON to Southern Quebec are bracing for a snowfall Monday into Tuesday , the same system will affect the Maritimes with 20cm+ of snow.

Something tells me December is going to be warm....

currently -22 real feel -29, was -20 most of the day

Alberta will be one of the coldest places on earth this weekend

The weather is getting colder, but Alberta is going to take that sentiment to a new level this weekend.

Starting on Saturday night, parts of Alberta and the rest of the prairies will become one of the coldest places on the planet, even colder than the North Pole.

Well, hello "winter"! There was some light rain and drizzle on Saturday around Vancouver. I used my umbrella for the first time in weeks.

Saturday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 11 C, the low was 9 C.

I'm kind of shocked by tomorrow's forecast. TWN says 10 cm of snow, that's a legit winter storm, on Nov 11! November is generally a snow-less month here, in terms of any kind of heavy accumulation anyways. We usually get a couple dustings that melt away. The monthly avg is 7cm. The temp is also forecasted to be a solid 10 degrees below normal.

Last November was way below seasonal, but nothing compared to what we are in for this week. This will be full on winter weather with snow and below freezing highs. SW Ontario didn't get this until mid-January last year.

I saw an article in the Washington Post saying that about 300 cold temperature records are set to fall this week. Freezing temps all the way down to New Orleans and Houston.

Today it is a relatively mild 8C, which is still below seasonal (11C is our normal average high for this date)

According to EC’s forecast tonight’s low in Calgary is -15. I even checked local forecasts and not one has a low near -20. Unless that graphic is talking about the wind chill?

Just checked, we had 40cm of snow in november 2018. The avg for the month is 19.

Currently +4C and partly cloudy in Moncton.

We already seem to be in our schizophrenic December weather pattern with rapidly cycling temperature changes, frequent storms every 3-4 days, and variable precipitation (rain/freezing rain/snow), depending on time of day and dependent on where you live (even one side of town as apposed to the other).

There is a storm due Monday night, beginning here in Moncton as -5C and snow, transitioning to +11C and rain during the daytime Tuesday, ending as flurries on Wednesday. In Freddy on the other hand, this will principally be a snow event, they are talking about an extended period of freezing rain in southwestern NB, and in Halifax, it will be entirely a rain event with a high of +15C.

Aaaahhhh, winter in the Maritimes - never a dull day..........

It was chilly - but a lovely day! We had a fine twack downtown.

This red house is a completely separate house from the yellow and grey one.

It has another back wall, full of windows, on the opposite side of the grey one.

Didn't get near the snow fall amounts forecast. But it did get colder. About -15. Going up to plus numbers again during the week. Roads were shut yesterday now that they are not using the brine. But only saw one accident. Sun is out now and it looks great. Still need to have my rain gear for my BC trip this week though.

Wow, that's a lot. Here, we don't really get snow in November. Might be some flakes falling, but accumulation is very rare.

Last November in Southern/Eastern ON was also very cold. Our average high was 3C below the seasonal norm. This year looks to be repeat, potentially even colder!

A solid 10-15cm of snow across the Windsor to Greater Toronto corridor on the way , up to 20cm in some spots that are impacted by lake enhancement. Montreal could also see 20cm of snow as well!

We could get 10-15 cm tomorrow.

I just checked the Chatham airport weather records and the average monthly snowfall for November is 1.7cm.

Record single day snow fall for November is 5.2cm.

We are set to demolish those records.

Growing up in this area, I don't recall ever having snow stick on the ground in November.
