It was mostly a tongue in cheek comment. And I was simply comparing the scene in Old Town to what “may” eventually come to Roosevelt due to the clubbing, bottle service, and EDM DJs announced. I’m sure you are well aware of the night scene in Old Town. For those too old or haven’t been in a while, stand in the four corners of Bottled Blonde, Hi-Fi, El Hefe, and Maya around 2am and you’ll see nothing but drunkenness douchebaggery. Of course, people will be wasted but you’ll see dudes peeing in the street, some vomiting, girls falling over, some fights, and broken glass as peeps sneak out of the bar with glass bottles lol

Now I’m not complaining as I lived this life for years when I was single and was there about every weekend. Some of the best moments of my life and many memories were created in this Entertainment District. Yes, this type of vibe and music attracts some assholes and $30K Millionaires who are buying Sky Vodka bottles. V-Necks galore.

However, in my humble opinion, I wouldn’t want to see this vibe in Roosevelt Row. I may be generalizing the EDM music portion of it, apologies if I offended anyone.

That being said, I believe a concept like El Hefe would blow up somewhere on Roosevelt Row.

El Hefe has done a great job of staying relevant, but I'd like to see a Four Peaks or Chuckie Duff's version of a brewery go there.

For those that are still unsure what a "d-bag" is, it's the less funny version of these guys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuqeN2FjrRQ

hahaha This! Maybe I need to use YouTube video next time to make my point. Damn fist pumpers or maybe it’s an age difference thing?

And totally agree. Would love to see a brewery in that space. I wanted it for Circles building where Snooze went. Maybe it can happen now at DeSoto

Roosevelt is quickly becoming beer row. With Greenwood, AZ Wilderness and The Theodore (not a brewery). It would make a nice location, however I think with Anheuser-Busch InBev buying Four Peaks, i doubt they are interested in any more retail locations. I think their focus is on distribution now unfortunately.

Has anyone tried Greenwood? I vaguely remember some conversation about it. They have it on the tap list at King's often but it's not rated very well on Untappd.

I did not think their beer was good when I had it at Whinning Pig about a year ago.

What an ignorant comment - did they quote the age of the person so that you area aware they were even a "millennial" ? ? ? Maybe you mean something different by millennial? lol

Either way - how terrible of people who live in a community to express what they WANT to have to serve their community . . . as if this is something new?! LOL

Same reason people protested the condo building at the Phoenix Country Club or the new Home Depot in Loma Linda . . . they don't want it in their neighborhood, and low-and-behold they would SUPPORT a project they feel actually fits their neighborhood and needs.

Beer Row, i like that! Maybe Outrageous Home-brewer's Social Outpost Brewery can open up shop? And they definitely fit the vibe on Roosevelt. One can pray...

On the real though, I wish they would takeover that building, but I believe they’re capped out to number of locations they can have according to state law....I think. They should close that empty Scottsdale location & put a location at Desoto.

I love OHSO's original location in Arcadia, but I've been frustrated to see all their growth has been in suburban locations. A downtown OHSO would be a nice development.

This could just be speculation but I heard from one of the property managers of enHance Park that a brewery is looking at 1129 N 1st St building. Maybe it was San Tan Brewery? Has anyone heard any info relating to this property?

Wasn't an OHSO supposed to be built at the Convention Center? Whatever happened to that proposal?

Edit: Here's the original article on that. Not sure if it's still alive or not. https://fronterasdesk.org/content/664924/outdoor-dining-brew-pub-coming-phoenix-convention-center

I missed that. Reading it now, it sounds like the mention of OHSO was speculative. If it did happen, it sounds like an arrangement similar to what exists at the airport: A concessionaire enters into a licensing agreement with a local business to deliver a selection of its menu. My jaded observation is that this never works out as well in reality as in theory.

Roosevelt is going to be fine and easily hold its own. If a brewery were to open, I would like to see it at the old Sporting House location. There’s a lot happening in the warehouse district and I’ve thought that to be a prime spot since I moved downtown in 2005

As a 5+ year resident of Roosevelt, I can say track club was a welcome addition to the neighborhood by me and my friends. Went there twice while it was open and never saw any DBAGness. The two artists we saw were 25 bucks to get in, not over priced at all as a few have said on here. The drinks were reasonably priced and the sound and lighting system were top notch. Leagues above anything in Scottsdale or Tempe right now.

This club appealed to the crowd that doesn’t like to frequent the other scenes, and I’m sad to see it go. Hoping someone could swoop in and buy it up with the whole system they already have in place cause it was so good! But understand that’s probably not how this will go down. Us downtown edm DBAGs will just have to keep frequenting bar Smith, crescent, and pressroom.

Final Plats for Aspire and Link phase 2 will be on the Monday Council Agenda. Since Aspire has already started, hoping this will means movement on Link 2 soon.

The new parking garage at Park Central has some height to it. Looking forward to the apartments to be built next to it.
