Yes. At least the westbound platform at Bayview has a couple of missing top glass panels on the east side. It's particularity sad, as there is a bench there, that's constantly wet. Also there's a gap in the middle of the westbound platform (about 30cm) between 2 top panels.
It's like the people that designed and built it don't know what roofs are for.

I really think the city needs to consider clawing back this rollout and restoring bus service to downtown, running LRT parallel until issues are worked out. If this frequency of breakdowns continues to happen over winter, people are literally going to lose it.

St Laurent this morning after 2 breakdowns-1 switch and 1 door issue at Blair and Lees.

Ya, I get not providing the big soaring roofs across the entire platforms - but why did they not continue the glass panels across the entire platform width - its mind-boggling.

Agreed. At least it's a relatively easy fix as long as they can find the $ for it.

One thing I've noticed from taking the trains.. The operators are making announcements about "please don't hold the doors" and "move further inside the train please" and such... but they're making them in English only.

I guess that's technically a breach of some type of rule, but it's no different than what OC bus drivers do. They almost always yell "move to the back of the bus" in English only.

How can this continue? It is almost every day. Totally unsatisfactory. This telling people to quit using transit. Washington had train issues that lasted for a protracted period of time due to poor maintenance. They lost a substantial portion of their ridership.

I think they should be made in both languages on both OC and STO, at least in the central areas of both cities.

No but Gatineau doesn't claim to be bilingual. In Ottawa the French minority votes based on bilingualism and Anglophones mostly don't care less. The reverse is not true on the other side of the river.

I don't think drivers are actually required to be bilingual so non-standard events are beyond OCTranspo's bilingual capacity.

I was stuck at Pimisi earlier this week due to an incident, and the announcements made across the entire rail network were in English only. I found that surprising as we are not talking about a bus operator here, but someone who is responsible for making announcements to the public across the entire network. Not that it bothered me, but it did surprise me.

Other than the few who seem to revil in spamming language complaints, most Franco-Ontarians aren't typically bothered by things like this, in my experience.

Some times they do, sometimes they don't in my experience. There is no policy on this so if they do it's just a courtesy.

Automated stop announcements on STO are in French only. As are electronic sign displays.

I'm going to take a glass half full view here, in the sense that for years OC Transpo has been doing shoddy service with the promise that the LRT would cure-all. Now the the emperor has no clothes, and the city finds itself not with the usual grumpy but will take it attitude from passengers, but actual palpable anger, we may get actual real service improvements. Maybe the door fiasco is a blessing in disguise, without it the status quo would have continued and gradual erosion would have kept going.

The lower end of the escalators at Tunney's are at the edge of the roof drip line and when there's a bit of wind with the rain it gets quite wet. I can imagine how much worse it will be during freezing rain or a blizzard. It could be like a conveyor belt for bringing snow up to the concourse
