Yes, I used the Current Cap in stead of the Projected Cap but I think over the year Injuries and Cap management can make that up. If you go by Projected Cap you're looking at extending the 6 days by an additional 10 days, likely closer to 20 days considering Little will be back soon.

I don't think that's entirely true. My understanding is that the NHL will reject any player transaction that puts a team over the cap. They calculate average club salary on a daily basis and it needs to always be under the cap assuming nothing changes for the rest of the year. Which is what makes dmacc's analysis required as un-suspending Byfuglien is potentially one of those transactions that the NHL could reject.

The only thing that can ever actually get you over the cap is bonuses. Other than that the NHL has a hard cap that cannot ever be violated.

They will wear these jerseys two more times. They will wear them on December 3 against Dallas, and Alumni night in February.

Is is really quite concerning if true. As much as I think prices are high, I would hate to see the team struggle financially. I want the team to be successful and strong so they can remain. I would hate to see the team struggle to the point of not being sustainable.

TNSE has burned up all their goodwill with a rather poor effort when it comes to customer service and loyalty to their season ticket holders.

Virtually every game is available for season ticket holder prices, so why lock in with a multi-year agreement when you can pick and choose the games you want to see?

They really should've seen this coming with the market softening over the last few years and made at least a token effort to treat their STH base as something more than a cash cow to be milked dry at every opportunity.

Well they were gifted a free, modern, downtown arena with all the concessions, luxury suites and amenities that go along with these things.

They also get $12M+ a year in tax breaks, subsidies, casino revenues, from the city and province.

It will be difficult to re-enlist many of the fans who've abandoned their seats...but maybe they should've thought about that a little bit before 2019?

Ticket sales for sure have softened. They had their first announced non-sellout since coming to Winnipeg a few games ago.

The renovations are courtesy of the province of Manitoba. The VLT revenue is stipulated that it must be spend on arena upgrades.

From what I recall, TNSE put up $25M ($5M of which was the Eaton's land owned by David Thomson's company). The rest was either direct government subsidy or loans backed by the province (not sure if they were borrowing from the province or just using the province as a guarantor to get a good interest rate). From 2004 to 2011 I believe they paid the mortage, but when the Jets moved back, they renegotiated the terms of the loans and I believe the payments are now covered by the casino dollars...with whatever's left over to be used for renovations. So not free...but I mean, pretty close. They put down 25%, paid the rent for 6 or 7 years.
