I personally wouldn't be surprised if it had a soft opening sooner, like Sunday or Monday.

I just drove from Costco to Arcola down that already open section of bypass and they appear to have removed all of the orange closed signs and are very ready to simply move the cones, in fact there was a car with an orange flashing domelight sitting there as if waiting for a phone call to start pulling cones. This 30 mins ago.

Yup, the CP train kinda gives it away.

What a boondoggle. People are going to be very disappointed with how little this changes, not to mention the induced demand it's going to create.

On the other hand, what is with the expansion area at the CN crossing?

I had a conversation with my buddy (who is a trucker) about the Bypass. While he's excited, the fact that he still has to go to Ross Industrial for a stop means he won't be using it.

Where does he go from Regina, north? He will see some indirect benefit from reduced congestion.

OK so he gets full benefit of the stretch from Tower Rd to Balgonie. Also he now has the option from Ross Industrial, of heading NW on Hwy 11 and then south on the Bypass to TCH when there is construction or accidents on the Ring Road, although we all know that is rare.

I can't imagine why any trucker would go from Ross Industrial to Calgary via 11 N instead of just taking Ring Road West.

I have to agree with BDII that the bypass will do very little to alleviate truck traffic.
