A quick snap of the east side of 2000 Bryant on my way to coffee.

The brick/tile work looks great and is prob halfway done at this point. Though, for some reason, they're taking the scaffolding down already. Seems like a weird move.

Does anyone know why they'd be doing that so close to finished? Permits up?Rental contract for the scaffolding up?

I'm not sure about the scaffolding, but I do wish SF was building more buildings like this one.

That's a new building? There is still hope for warm/earthy materials!

I seriously would have assumed this to have been a preservation project.

I don’t whether brick (etc) is an indication of ‘caring’ but this developer was fought fervently by a few neighborhood groups for years. Thankfully it’s made it this far.

It was known as the Beast on Bryant and was fought alongside the Monster on Mission (16th and Mission project). It looks good; I hope people's original thoughts on the project are scaled back or toned down based on finished product.

Walked by the Crescent on Sunday. For such a prominent location at California & Powell Streets I was dismayed to see such crappy architecture!

since the threads for Park Tower and 500 Folsom are closed to new posts...

the sidewalks just to the east of Park Tower, in front of the taste-of-things-to-come-but-kinda-crappy-for-now temporary greenspace, look like they are about to get fancy new pavers (I assume those stacked things are for the torn up sidewalk)

and work on Folsom progresses... the sidewalk in front of 500 Folsom:

on the south side of the street they are not as wide, but ample, and they do make Folsom feel more intimate through this stretch

this one is also right across the street from this one, which socketsite just reported has its permits in hand

(I'm actually sort of hoping the project that wraps around this one gets redesigned to give the block some height variation)

that is another stretch of Folsom that could potentially get quite livened up if all of the cluster of proposed projects there actually get going. and it may work to link up Moscone Folsom with Transbay/Rincon/East Cut Folsom

Interesting design. I like it. Looks like stacked factory built modules. Factory built modules could reduce costs. Less on site work needed. Anything to make housing more affordable.

There are two already at different stages: Oceanwide Center First Street tower (under construction) and parcel F (waiting for approval), both of which are over 800 ft. But other than that it's mainly highrises right now. I don't see anything else much taller than 500ft going up any time soon, at least not in this cycle

You need to define "skyscraper" more precisely. There are quite a number of proposals and under-construction projects that fit the SSP definition of 120 ft or taller. Many are in the district called "the Hub" near the intersection of Market & Van Ness:

Pedestrian's right, there are still many tall buildings in the works, but not too many over 450 feet. But his image of "The Hub" shows the shorter two-tower 10 South Van Ness. Planning prefers the single-tower 610 foot version (590 + 20 foot screen), and there eyeing an even taller one in that same area.

There are also still a few 500+ footers planned for the Transbay area, but it may be a while before we see them break ground...
