After 17 years the Walmart on Germantown Pike in East Norriton is closing, will be interesting to see what happens to the space. And Norristown is getting a Royal Farms at the Norristown Centre.

Yellow crane up for this 11-story senior housing building in King of Prussia Towne Center. I couldn't tell if it's a tower crane or not

If this is right up against 422 then it looks like a mobile crane.

Carlyle Group teams with Malvern developer to build apartments on former diocesan land in Downingtown

Quote:
A venture involving Washington investment giant the Carlyle Group has acquired part of a former diocesan property near the Downingtown Country Club, where it plans a 220-unit apartment building.

The private-equity and asset-management firm is joining Malvern developer Eli Kahn and Cornerstone Tracy LLC of Villanova on the project at Lancaster Avenue and Woodbine Road, Kahn said Wednesday.

The group acquired the property in August for $5.25 million from Kahn’s E. Kahn Development Corp., according to real estate tracker the CoStar Group. Chester County property records put the development site at 16.7 acres.

Kahn bought a 50-acre parcel that includes that land from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for $3.8 million in 2014, the Philadelphia Business Journal reported at the time. The Archdiocese continues to operate its St. John Vianney Center treatment clinic on property adjacent to the project site.

Speaking of healthcare facilities construction: Penn Medicine in Radnor is pretty far along now. This is a huge project. See link with photos and video:

Nice! I assume that's taken from one of the upper floors of the 360ft. 1201 North Market Street! What floor was this taken from?

Correct! Don’t want to specify because it could out me (not that I care that much), but the top 4-5 floors.

Btw, don’t get excited over the crane at the hospital like I did. It’s just a new parking garage.

Ok, that's fine. I do wonder when Wilmington does get around to building something taller than 1201. That building is 360ft tall which is about exactly the same height as the tallest tree in the world. I get that Wilmington isn't building anything tall soon, but I hope they do at some-point in the near future. I'll probably be the first to talk about it!

BTW, I'm working on a 1:1 scale of Wilmington in Minecraft. If you want to see the progress of that so far, tell me and I'll post some pics. Right now, I'm working on the interior of the Hercules Building. Once I get a good portion of it done, I'll put it up for download on planetminecraft.

The Phoenixville Rail return can't come soon enough.

Can you spot the Center City skyline? This is from downtown Wilmington, about 25 miles as the crow flies, and taken by me with an iPhone.

Cool pics! Reminds me of this (and full disclosure I am not sure if this is real or not, starting at 0:26):

Wow!!! I'd love to take my Nikon and 300mm lens to somewhere in Wilmington to capture the skyline. Anyone know any place in the area where I can do that?

Nice! I wish I could work in one of the upper floors of the 23 story, 360ft. 1201 North Market Street skyscraper. Here's my Minecraft 1201 North Market Street:

Nomad9's picture was taken from one of the upper floors of the 23 story, 360ft. tall 1201 North Market Street skyscraper, which is the tallest building in Wilmington and Delaware. So if you can get to the top floors of that building, I bet you would get some awesome views. I hope they add an observation deck to the top floor, but I doubt that will happen.

Here's a picture from the 18th floor of one of the Chase Buildings on the riverfront in Wilmington. My friend took this picture!
