Waiting patiently for the A220

No B717 on that list? I didn't even know about that plane until I flew in one last month (Delta), it was MD95 before Boeing acquisition

Maybe a bit less bad news. Apparently United has only temporarily suspended YOW-EWR. However, no date has been set for its return. https://www.routesonline.com/news/38/air...s-selected-north-american-routes-in-w19/

Unsure if this is accurate or not, but apparently there is an A220 coming in from Val D'Or right now...

Well if it’s temporary, it’s currently not available through to the end of UA’s booking window, which is currently August 17, 2020.

Here's YOW's August pax stats:

Sector / Aug-18 / Aug-19 / % Change
Dom: 398,042 / 390,138 / -2.0% - this can pretty much be attributed to the MAX reductions
TB: 56,936 / 50,812 / -10.8% - Entirely due to UA's ORD suspension. If the 3x/day were there in August at an 80% LF, TB would have been +2.3%
Int'l: 25,920 / 25,949 / +0.1% - Assuming 100% completion factor, Int'l had a 93.8% LF for the month.
TTL: 480,898 / 466,899 / -2.9%

Sector YTD 2018 / YTD 2019 / % Change
Dom: 2,671,722 / 2,679,673 / +0.3%
TB: 486,721 / 484,410 / -0.5%
Int'l: 281,017 / 313,910 / +11.7%
TTL: 3,439,460 / 3,477,993 / +1.1%

12 Months Rolling / % Change vs Year End 2018
Dom: 4,010,160 / +0.2%
TB: 718,459 / -0.3%
Int'l: 420,715/ +8.5%
TTL: 5,149,334 / +0.8%

AC has finally updated their website to show the LH flight on YOW-FRA. As expected, AC838/839 are gone.

I had a chance to see one arrive back at the Long Beach Factory after its Paris Airshow debut. They closed off the road to taxi it back to the factory from the airport (the fences long the road pull away so planes can be moved across the road.) My dh worked on the project and we were going to dinner one night, saw the fence moved back and police ready to close off the road and so pulled into the parking lot to watch it come 'home.'

Never flown on one, though.

I saw that one! Tracked it going right over my house in Orleans. Seemed very odd as it said it was flying between Val D'Ord and Thunder Bay but was only about 5000ft at the time. Thought it was just something wonky going on with th4 App. It was in Airbus livery.

I saw that one landing at the airport a couple weeks ago (the 13th I think).

I remember seeing it doing touch-and-gos back in the summer of 2016 when I was spotting one evening.

The Ottawa-Melbourne flight is gone and Melbourne is gone for good as well as a destination for Porter as seen on their flight map. https://www.flyporter.com/en-ca/about-porter/porter-experience

That's too bad. Always sad to lose a destination, even one that's a weekly seasonal.

I wish PD would add a seasonal YOW-MYR flight.

Are there reasons why Porter, Sunwing etc flights to the U.S. do not use the preclearance facility? It's rare, if ever, that all the preclearance gates are full.

My guess is it is related to the cost. I expect the airport changes a premium for preclearance and those airlines don’t want to pay.

Looks like AC will be using the 788 on the morning YOW-YVR and the evening YVR-YOW for the week of Dec 3-9.

Cool. I see that 1 daily YYZ-YHZ sees a 77W over the holidays.

First time at the airport in a while, noticed the observation area over the ramp and runways is now closed off

Construction at the new Line 2 station seems to be underway

And (at least until the bus routes change on 6 Oct) the bus stop give you both options for transit to downtown: either 20 minutes ("Fast, Frequent, Direct")

or if you prefer, 25 minutes

Super Exciting! Lots of work to go to make things run smooth with phase 1 but phase 2 is going to be another BIG transformation for Ottawa. Bayview is gonna be really busy someday!

Is it confirmed the airport spur will be labelled as part of Line 2? I'm thinking it might become line 3.
