Congrats on #1000. At your current rate you'll get to where Kevin is today in a little over 530 years.

That's the best set of 300 Colorado photos posted so far.

Thanks, I noticed today that it's just now starting to poke out above the Hobby Building when viewed from the parking lot where the Republic will go. In a few months that should make for some good photos from the West.

Congrats on hitting 1,000 posts, Keith.

I'm really liking this one. It's not just another box. It has something different because of the darker glass, the facade has some texture to it. It has setbacks and indentions in the facade. That channel running up the west side gives it some contrast since the glass is not only dark but also reflective. This one is pleasing to the eye, and it's interesting noticing all the little things.

The crane is being jumped. It's quite a bit higher already.

I still couldn't care less for this tower. It's a bland suburban cube taking up valuable downtown space.

If it was complete today, 300 Colorado would be the 8th tallest in Austin. Doesn't seem very suburban to me. Suburban is more like the Railyard Condos or the old Children's Museum. I won't debate the blandness, but it's a black bland rectangle instead of another blue bland rectangle.

Depends on the lighting though. It's a black rectangle until it's not. This past Friday when I drove up Colorado, the glass looked exactly the same as 300 Colorado. Literally identical color. It's pretty crazy how there is such large color reflection for glass with black undertones.

I don't think we can really refer to it as black like the renderings hinted. The metal around the glass is indeed black, but the actual glass has no black undertones to my eye. As you mentioned, it looks exactly like 300 Colorado.

Really, I think it's more comparable to the W, since both will have lots of accent pieces that are definitely black, along with the dark blue glass.

Either way, it should be darker than 300 Colorado, etc., and with certain angles and lighting, should pretty much look black. But you're right that it won't be as black as say, the BofA building (which is awesome, by the way).

Man, I had no idea this one was so far along. I think I got it mixed up with The Molar so I wasn't checking on it.

I still think it's way too basic but I can't deny that it adds... something... to the area. Maybe the retail will be good.

Last we know, there will be a two level restaurant on the corner. It could be another Sullivan's, but most likely it will be another restaurant from the parent company's portfolio.

Yeah, it was Del Frisco Grille at last word. The Sullivan's chain was sold to the Macaroni Grill company.
