Sorry - you still haven't helped me understand what you're saying. Where does CoV reference Camden Town in relation to Mount Pleasant? I thought it was the developer and architect who came up with the design of the Independent, but you seem to suggest that somehow the City referenced Camden Town as a model. Can you point to where? I can't see it in the Mount Pleasant Community Plan, which was the basis for allowing the rezoning.

I'll wager those beanbag-looking things will last until the first couple takes advantage of one on which to... couple. Any strata board worth their salt will toss those things almost immediately.

No doubt, though I was thinking more of the dog's breakfast of architectural elements: tiny inset windows in niches, yellow railings, blue railings, vertical seafoam spandrel, brick...it's nauseating.

Ah! Now that's how you do awnings and drain spouts. Not like on the other side of the building!

Overall, nice interactions with the street. Love the surroundings now.

I rather that they clad it with those artist prints. Graffiti is just a no-no. In tight urban corridors, sometimes that is the only place they can place the box.

Pretty sure they can put the money below grade. But even still I think this is just poor planning or no one gave a shit

And it only took someone about five seconds to think their bike is too precious to be stored with other pleb's bikes in the bike rooms.

Maybe... in my building, there are quite literally not enough bike racks/stands and some people have just left their bike in the room with a lock between the front wheel and body.

In brand new buildings, the bike room requirements are pretty hefty. I'd be surprised if it had already reached maximum usage.

View from the penthouse is pretty nice, although the unit is small with a sliding door.

DT Vancouver looks even bigger from that angle, with False Creek developments filling in some spaces. Nice shot.

So, did they ever install the art display video screen?

Going to guess no, seeing how proposed screens seem to be dropped from every development in Vancouver.
