19C was the high today but it was achieved at 8AM. That's when we had some sunny breaks.

Then the rain came and the temperature dropped to 15C where it stayed for a big part. Rain stopped at 4PM.

The warmspot was Vineland, ON at 23.1C.

Special weather statement issued by EC is good news for Calgary. Only 5cm is expected, and most of that should melt away on contact. Also temperatures expected to rebound back to low to mid-teens by mid next week.

Hopefully we can get extended nice weather in October. (Although September hasn't been too bad).

Dropped to 10.3 this morning, a close one. Tonight's low is forecast to be 21, what a contrast.

The forecast low for Ottawa-Gatineau on Saturday night is 3C so starting to get
close to zero.

I did some checking of cities in NE Ontario and NE Quebec.

Timmins, Kapuskasing and Val-d'Or all froze for the first time around Sept. 2-3.
Moosonee which is further north but on James Bay froze on Sept. 12.

Sudbury, North Bay and Rouyn-Noranda AFAIK have not frozen yet.

This is odd in the case of Rouyn as it is roughly on the same latitude and generally has the same conditions as Timmins and Val-d'Or.

currently 11 to 12 and mainly sunny in Victoria at 8:30 this morning. Forecast calls for a few showers later on with a high of only 13. Hopefully like most other days this week we get past the forecast high.

Yesterday was very nice! Partly cloudy (nice afternoon sun DT) with highs of 17 (Airport); 18 (UVic) and 19 (Langford). Lows in the double digits too.

Was a perfect afternoon for the RAF Red Arrows flyby downtown.

So... would it be ironic for people walking in the climate strike to hope for good mild weather being the end of September in Canada??

Or will those experiencing cold crappy weather in the west simply blame the miserable conditions on climate change?

Just some fun thoughts

PS, climate change is something that needs to be addressed but fucking sick of seeing Greta’s face.

The pic of her face and Donald Trump’s face in the same image was almost too much self satisfied smugness to take.

Never understood this thread except the opportunity to feel good about ur local conditions versus lousy conditions elsewhere.

Weather is reported everywhere. Including ubiquitous Vancouver palm trees (occasionally snow dusted).

I guess the glue that keeps Canada together really is the never-ending discussion of weather.

"Sure it's nice today but the forecast....." ;-)

Many of us find it interesting, you apparently do not, not everyone is the same. Likewise I'm sure you visit threads I couldn't give 2 fucks about.

Anyways...Things are quite nice here today, 20C and mainly sunny. We went for a walk and of course things were overcast for that, then sunny again right when we left, but what can you do.

Beautiful old Oak tree

In a country with a crappy climate, one indulges in the small compensations that are available to us.

Gloating when it's 3 degrees in your city while it's -20 everywhere else is practically a national pastime.

Quite chilly at 0°C right now with overcast skies. I haven't seen any snowflakes falling yet, though.

Yesterday was wet, and for awhile last evening, it was pouring for quite some time.
