Another nice day here, high of 25.8 this afternoon, with some nice warm air from the south set to dominate until Monday. Lows around 19-22 the next four nights and highs around 27 for the weekend.

More or less back to normal with a high of 19C later today and sun with some cloud. Great to have to use the sunglasses again.

21C and sunny! Just didn't warm as expected.

Low of 7C this morning. Very chilly. The freeze in parts of Atlantic Canada before the Prairies just shows how crappy the weather has been over here.

The warmspot was Moosonee, ON at 26.9C. The heat bubble is to the north.

BTW- EC is clowning with a LOW of 24...

Much milder than yesterday morning, thankfully.

even though it was showery this morning the days are still quite nice. We finally get a long stretch of good weather. 20 all weekend.

Nights are cooling faster though.

spent the day yesterday on a water treatment plant roof then in a utility trench. with all the PPE needed I was quite sweaty by the end of the day. and I loved it.

Crazy monsoon-like thunderstorm and downpour this morning in Winnipeg. 30-60 mm of rain fell in less than a couple of hours. Another biggie to come this evening.

Not as hot as earlier this week but pretty warm still with temps in the high teens.

17 to 18 and partly cloudy in Victoria just after noon. Forecast call for a high of 18 and mostly sunny. Nice late september day.

Yesterday was OK. Highs of only 16 (Airport); 16 (UVic) & 17 (Langford)

Feels like the middle of summer again. Low of 18.5 this morning and high of 25.8 so far today, humidex 32. A cool breeze is coming off the lake, dropping the current temperature to 24. The temperature is forecast to stay above 20 until Monday night.

The long range is showing more summery weather next weekend. This September is making up for our crappy June.

Barely a cloud in the sky and 26C with 28 as the humidex.

Today is a PD day for most Gatineau schools so lots of kids splashing around in backyard pools this afternoons.

One of the last days of the year they'll be able to do that.

The low at YHZ was indeed a new all-time record for September 18. There is this interesting visualization going back to the 1800's, although it used different locations for different dates:

The lake breeze has died off and the temp rose over 27C. This is a strong burst of warmth. Temps of 30C could be in play this weekend for Windsor or Sarnia. It might be 30 today in the Port Lambton area, but there aren't any weather stations around there.

I've been up by Georgian Bay and Muskoka for the past week. It has been surprisingly calm during this stretch. Makes swimming more enjoyable. And as a fisherman, being on a boat on glass-like water is always a bonus. The lack of wind is Vancouveresque.

Is there a site that can tell you air quality in different regions? But on a local scale?

My father in law always says the air is so much fresher up here when at the cottage compared to down in the city. I personally have never felt it here...absolutely no difference. I have felt the difference in air in the mountains obviously, and down on the eastern half of Lake Erie region.

Don't know if it was psychological but the air felt thicker and dustier. It's always a little more humid there than at home but I was also passing through the Tobacco Belt and you could see tonnes of tobacco farms.

There's far fewer cars and industry up here than at home, but does that make a discernible difference or are people programmed to think they feel the difference? Or it just the smell of pine trees everywhere? Plus the temps and humidity up north are obviously a little lower than at home so does that make the air feel just a little bit lighter?

My wife said the same thing, but I said to her, when we're on the commercial strip road with all the big box stores and fast food joints, you know, away from all the forests, do you actually feel the difference? She said no.

It seems like Atlantic Canada has been going through a cold period for the past year or so.

I haven't looked at longer term averages but in Halifax the period leading up to the summer of 2019 was one of the longest without a day hitting 20 degrees ever recorded.

September's still pretty awful here in Vancouver. The current forecast is for highs from 15-19 and at least some rain every day for the next week.

http://aqicn.org might have what you're looking for.

It focuses on urban areas but there is some regional coverage.

In Calgary, we had 60 days at/above 20 this summer. It seems low, but I'm not sure what our averages are. We only had 22 days above 25 during the summer, which is definitely low, though we did have another 5 in early June/late May.

Edit: looks like tonight is gonna be the first time closing my kitchen window since I moved in two months ago. What a shame.

Beautiful in Thunder Bay, went up to 30. I'm only posting this number so someone will tell me I'm wrong and post what it really was since I'm too lazy to look it up myself.

Of course we didn't warm up as much as the forecast had predicted but a very pleasant day nonetheless.

24C with a humidex of 28 and sunny!

Low of 13C this morning.

The warmspot was Sarnia, ON at 28.2C.

BTW-Windsor has yet to fall below 10C still.
