Anyone above the 60th floor or so will have some of the best views of the city from this location.

Or someone with an apartment on the north side of one superior place. They will be enjoying construction sounds for the foreseeable future. Might as well share some pictures with us.

I hope this development kickstarts some higher quality design in this area of downtown. Some of these nearby high-rises are among the worst in the city. Barf.

Granted, this was 04:30 yesterday morning from the Broadway bus but I swear to fuck that I spied a section of tower crane on the State Street side. It was red.

Really amazing amount of development that has pushed west on Chicago. NW corner Chicago and State and that parking lot to the west are screaming for something. That parking lot goes back far.

My friend used to own an eatery in a building that touched the parking lot there. I remember him telling me a handful of years ago that something was in the works...but haven't heard anything in that amount of time.

That is a tank for the polymer slurry for the top of rock caissons. If you drive through the spaghetti exchange, you will see the same tank that Stalworth has next to the bridge piers. If they have no place to pump the polymer slurry, they pump it into the tank. When they are done with it, they add chemicals to dissipate the polymer to return the water to normal and dispose of it.
