Structural steel supplier and pre-cast concrete supplier both went bankrupt post tender.

This was an unforeseen and highly unusual event that delayed the tower aspect of this project.

Sad how one of their own employees single handedly drove Litz out of business.

What an idiot.

Back on topic, it is alarming to see two companies go bankrupt after the project is tendered. You'd think there would be legal action involved if there isn't already?

I'm curious who the companies involved are.

Litz was a well known company. Was the employee a family member that had drug or — problems? Geez that's depressing.

Not a family member. Perhaps he was addicted to the highlife?

What a disgusting weasel. I hope Karma gets him good and quick.
I am surprised it took so long for LITZ owners to catch on.

If you look at the core on floors 4 and 5 it appears like some parts are missing the part of steel that holds the holocores in place. Is there a reason for this or are they going to have to be put in before they go up?

If you read this affidavit, it's even more depressing and insane.

I honestly have no words. The amount of greed in some people is just outrageous.

What's even more insane is how the owners had no clue about what was going on until it was too late.

Such a shame. All it took was a brief search on the Court of Queen's Bench registry to know that this guy had a history of judgments going against him from 2013 onward.

Elderly founders who built the business and know it inside out can't be fooled... it's the successive generations who reap the benefits but aren't personally involved who are vulnerable to this kind of thing. It sounded like the family members in charge at that point didn't really understand the business anymore. You put a snake like that guy into the mix and disaster ensues.

Agreed. And yeah, was thinking the same here. I remember people looking and yelling "LOOK AT THIS!!!" with souped-up Honda Civics being raced down Portage or Regent on cruise nights... when someone goes around Winnipeg in a Maserati or McLaren, thats virtually unheard of. MASSIVE red flag.

Plus his gym(s?) he opened, the crazy gifts he gets his wife, their insanely over the top wedding. He lived the lifestyle as if he owned LITZ lol.

Not really. GM deserves a lot of blame here for not ensuring proper controls and oversight.

You'd have to think they are having a "just in time" supply issue with the hollowcore concerning the north side of the core.

What about the accountants/auditors? Guaranteed an outside council. Year after year, noticed nothing?
