Good to see that Houston, which was my hometown for nearly two decades, has been building more and more skyscrapers in recent years. Back in the early to mid 1980s, two of the world's ten tallest buildings were in Houston!

I like how the tower is angled, will give some needed diversity to straight lines and flat roofs downtown.

This building is about 20 feet shorter than 609 Main that was just completed a couple of years ago.

Neither of which even crack the top 5 tallest buildings in Houston. In fact the last one that did was over 30 years ago, proving my point

It's not all about the height. Downtown Houston has built two major office towers recently (609 Main and Capitol Tower) This will be the third. Not many other American cities can boast that. Only San Francisco, Chicago and NYC come to mind.

So what? You said "finally a tall building going up" of THIS tower that is shorter than 609 Main that was constructed a couple of years ago. Houston has the third tallest skyline in the county. Don't act like the tall order you're creating is some type of norm.

The only cities that would be in the same discussion as far as tall buildings being constructed since 2000 would be NYC, Chicago, SF, and Miami.

Name another American city that has not had a building crack the top 5 tallest buildings in that city in the past 30 years. Like I said, other than Dallas

Very true, they're rapidly growing cities as well, odd they don't build more skyscrapers, like say, Austin. Atlanta too..
