Another project in the Beltline added a crane this morning.

Can't tell much at this point, other than it is certainly a large hole, and that it looks more traditional rectilinear than the other mansion that is just finishing up. I'm hopeful this one will be three floors.

This looks solid. The stone looks excellent, and the design is a modern take on a fortress. Movie set material for sure.

I love how the open windows near the bottom of this great picture of the Mckimmie Tower change-up the reflection. Class building!

I was going to post some more updates from SRC but it seems like everyone here has accounts over there anyways. Is there anyone here who doesn't go to SRC? Just curious.

I would say all but 3 or 4 people here go to SRC regularly. There's the guy who was always using the dental chair analogy. I'm sure he doesn't go there. Corndogger has asked a few questions here and there that leads me to think he doesn't go there either. Also Daemon.

The only time I go there is if someone here posts a link. It looks like a great clearinghouse of info but the level of discourse is no better than here and the depth of topics covered is worse than here as far as I'm concerned.

Dude, no offense but you're completely out to lunch. I'm not trying to convince to go to SRC or anything, but you couldn't be more wrong on that statement.

You should do a search on your own posts and read them. Vast majority of them are insulting people. Is that the level of discourse at SRC?

I'm talking about a broad range of topics such as roads, etc. When I read posts at SRC it's still the same ideological driven nonsense as when those people were here. I feel like this place has moved beyond that. And by this place I mean the Calgary and Alberta forums. The Canada forum is toxic beyond belief.

I certainly don’t come here for the depth of topics or because there’s less discussion discourse. I come here because it’s entertaining. I can’t wait to see what the pack of right wing contards will say next.

I don't go to SRC, to each his own. I couldn't care less about high rise towers in the Beltline or cycle tracks. I'm here for the mansion updates.

Not being fans of Druh and Nenshi hardly makes us right-wing contards. The vast majority of us have been in favor of major civic projects and doing them right. We also happen to be a lot more realistic which is what makes this place better than SRC. Most of us are open to debate whereas they have predetermined starting points such as suburbs are evil which leads to discussion that isn't much better than fantasy.

Well said, and I couldn’t agree more. The folks over st SRC have been drinking the Kool Aid. The type of morons that think we needed to spend $35 million on an unnecessary pedestrian bridge.

Hmm, to be honest I haven't found that. Out of all the members there, maybe 2 or 3 guys are vocal with their dislike about the suburbs. I like the discussion there, I find it objective and it's good discussion if you're a middle of the road guy like myself. I find discussion here is completely polarized. The only reason I come here is to see the mansion updates. If they had those at SRC I wouldn't come here.

Some forums at SSP are definitely polarized and a few are toxic. I don't find this one to be either but it does get childish at times with the drive-by insults by some.

I don't know that there's any point in posting links to SRC. Someone mentioned earlier that most people here have accounts there anyways, and it's probably true. The handful of people who are determined not to go there (Bad Grizzly, Corndogger, and northern) are never going to go there regardless.
