funny you mention that i was just checking out that new Skyrise website a month ago and i have seen what seems to be a lot on the table from developers looking to build condo towers near the 400 ft mark, not only that i work for a major highrise builder based in Vancouver, Edmonton and Saskatoon and i had been hearing we are looking at going back to Calgary possibly with what seems to be a major build up of project coming through the pipeline in the next few years. dont quote me, but have heard few things are coming as well as investors who are foreign

I'd like to know what makes condo towers in the 400-500 foot range so appealing to developers.

I'm not surprised to hear that your company might be coming back to Calgary. There's a number of major condo towers under construction so investors somewhere must have some confidence in the market. For foreign investors Calgary must look very appealing.

There are quite a few projects coming down the pipes in Calgary. Hang around skyrise long enough and you'll hear about the ones that aren't public yet and there are a few. Good times ahead.

I might as well add my bit from Skyrisecities. There's a tower over by Motel Village that's getting noticeable from the University. Apparently a 28 storey rental tower Already at 10 storeys

I count 12 floors, but either way getting noticeable. I can see the crane from where I live.

Thanks for highlighting the updates at SRC - they do a great job of keeping up on construction, that's for sure.

That being said, it isn't a new project to us here - we've talked about it on a couple occasions, right from when the project was initially put forth.

Having driven by it a couple times, the floor plate is sure tiny!

Pretty clear why so many people have shifted over to SRC!

Technically, no. Empty formwork that is not inherent to the house is at ground level.
