Bath & Body Works shut down too. Lots of stuff happening inside, things moved into the mall from the village and a few stores moving around.

Probably already discussed somewhere in here, but F21 has been struggling (to the point they were flirting with Chapter 11). Remember the clothes might be cheap to make but they were sold cheap too. Not much left over to be profitable.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that as part of refinancing they quietly decided to jettison some underperforming or money-losing stores. If you think about the rent at Robson it was probably astronomical, and traffic at the Park Royal store was pretty hit and miss. It was also a small store that was very cramped.

That's pretty much a lot of . I was hoping for more substantial tenants. Well, maybe they can make it up with Phase 3.

They created 35 new stores and only have 8, plus Old Navy which will open later. That's 9 of 35 spaces, they have 26 empty storefronts, Phase 3 is it really going to be needed?

Phase One still has empty storefronts.

Just saw that Reebok is hiring for positions at the outlet, they currently don't have a store there.

What's a "substantial" tenant?

Ah. I didn't know there were further CRUs to be let.

When did the Starbucks at Main and Keefer close? I’m surprised given all the new condos in the area.

Couple of months ago I believe. I was surprised too as that area is doing pretty well. The Waves closed a whole back too, Wonder if locals using the washroom was what did them in.

A Bose outlet store would be good. They have one in Toronto Premium Outlets. They have great deals on refurbished items all the time.

The Waves has a notice saying that the new owners of the franchise are updating the equipment, although there doesn't seem to be much activity in the store. The Starbucks never seemed to be particularly busy. If you like coffee, there are better options nearby including Matchstick and Propaganda. If you just like brown liquid, the new(ish) Tim Hortons across the street took some of the trade. If the Waves reopens, there will be plenty of options (and washrooms) close by.

I would think Nordstrom Rack or Saks Off 5th - higher end off-price (as opposed to Winners (close-by at Marine Gateway, anyways) or Marshalls).
... but both have slowed their expansions.

the recently cleared spot on Robson, is there going to be anything with the new building to make it interact with the rear alley at all? this is one of the alleys the city want to focus on more right? the old building to the left has some good patio space that opens onto the alley but I never see anyone using it.

Short answer. No.

http://urbanpropertiesgroup.ca/leases/1067-robson-street-vancouver/

The city is sticking artwork on all the doors on the alley but that's it.

That's unfortunate. A little more interest from the city on how the laneways could be better used would be better than them freaking out if a building casts a shadow on the sidewalk on robson at 4pm during winter. Lol. Priorities seem a little off.

Oh ok so it's a size issue. The way it was used sounded like they weren't good enough brand names. I didn't think they were building spaces for tenants that size

Max Mara
Mont Blanc
Pajar
Prada
Saint Laurent
Saks Off Fifth
Scotch & Soda
The Kooples
Tory Burch
Versace
Zadig & Voltaire
