Ronson's sell Keen shoes, and have over 30 styles (both men's and women's) for sale. You can check them out online, have them sent to the nearest store that works for you, and either take them away or cancel the purchase if they don't fit, or work for your orthotics. They've probably got this year's styles at full price as well.

Retailers for 84,000 sqft McArthurGlen expansion announced

Quote:
First new retailers announced for McArthurGlen Vancouver Airport Outlet Mall expansion
Kenneth Chan | Jul 31 2019, 11:18 am

After more than a year of construction, the second phase expansion of McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport shopping centre is set to open on Saturday, August 31, the start of the 2019 Labour Day long weekend.

The 84,000-sq-ft retail space addition, built over several acres, is a seamless eastward expansion of the shopping centre.

These are the new retailers that have been confirmed at this time for opening:
  • Adidas
  • Jimmy Choo
  • Stuart Weitzman
  • All Saints
  • Movado
  • North Face
  • Jack & Jones
  • Starbucks
[...]

The existing 240,000-sq-ft shopping centre has approximately 70 stores, and a future third phase expansion on the northeast corner of the site will add roughly an additional 100,000 sq. ft. of retail space. No timeline has been established for this third phase expansion.

[...]

I didn't appreciate that there was still so much additional expansion capacity on the property. At full build-out we would be talking about talking roughly 420,000 sqft, if I'm not mistaken.

They left out Old Navy.

Back to Keen, they often have some at Winners.

There's still yet a third phase?? This mall is doing significantly better than I could have expected given that it's an outdoor venue.

I meant a Keen store like SpongeG posted a picture of. I used to get them at The Shoe Company and more recently at SportChek (they're both at Metrotown). I know MEC carries them too. Which Winners have you seen them at???

Their webstore has a tickbox for 'orthotic friendly' so I'll usually check that if the listing doesn't say (SportChek says 'removable footbed').

Madison Centre possible reconfiguration

I wonder what might happen with Madison Centre once TAB and Gilmore place are built out considering it's kinda always been a dead mall, I'm sure at least Winners and possibly Save-on will jump ship for more prominent locations following Vancitys' move to a better spot. Once the Vancity is gone from the prominent corner unit I think a renovation to add a new more prominent entrance to the mall right at the corner of Lougheed and Rosser would be great and then fill in the old hidden entrance further down Rosser with a new reconfigured lobby for the offices with new retail unit(s) facing Rosser and open to the inside of the mall. Also street facing retail or restaurant/cafe space along Lougheed in front of Save-on would help it be more pedestrian friendly, especially the open empty lawn at the corner of Madison and Lougheed could add a large multi level retail unit.

Isn't there a plan for the Staples and Steve Nash property across the street? Renovating Madison centre would greatly help with the continuous retail presence along Lougheed once the Staples and gym site is redeveloped.

The mall is so easy to miss if you don't know it's there, if you are from out of town and driving by you would only figure the development has a couple street retail units at Rosser and Lougheed and maybe notice the Save-on and Winners facade signs hidden behind trees if they have no leaves.

New mall entrance location right on the corner:

Old mall entrance area on Rosser to fill in with new retail space:

Where new street facing retail units should go instead of trees and lawn, fronting at the sidewalk:

Unused corner of Madison and Lougheed

All that or convert most or all of Madison Centre to office.

Out of curiosity, has anyone ever heard any rumour about what Aberdeen's sales per square foot are?

its all most mostly office, never thought of it as a mall. That winners is always busy too, theres enough locals who can shop there and support it.

The Winners there is probably ready to be replaced by a larger combo Winners-Homesense.
My guess would be at Gilmore Place.

No the retail component is almost double the size of the office building at the corner however it's hidden and hard to notice it's there, giving it better street presence with street facing retail would change that.

Madison Centre is located along Lougheed Highway just one block west of Willingdon Avenue and Brentwood Skytrain Station. This mixed-use development consists of 60,000 sq. ft. office b building and 100,000 sq. ft. of retail shopping and services. Anchor retail tenants include Save-On-Foods, Winners, JOEY restaurant and Vancity Credit Union.

That Winners has always been quite devoid of customers whenever I'm there, if I remember correctly the Winners has also never been renovated aside from new cashier area so that can be an indication they want to find a better, more prominent space instead of investing in their current space, A homesense would also make a great addition to the area but it can't fit in Madison centre as it stands now.

Another good spot for a Winners / Homesense would be the basement level of Amazing Brentwood - about 50,000 sq ft.

other than the winners and save-on what other retail is in there?

It's all offices for dentists, tanning, nail salons etc, I don't count those as retail.

Hmm no idea what that means. AFAIK the City of Richmond only publishes a list of rezoning/development applications but doesn't have further info on the proposals? I might be wrong though. They do have a PDF that is updated and lists everything (rezoning apps, development apps, etc.) in one place

The zoning is probably restrictive of second hand stores - probably linked to pawn shops and other "undesireable" retail.
Fairchild probably wants to allow a second hand store - ie upscale vintage (think second hand luxury purses) as a tenant.

I believe there's already a 'luxury consignment' store in Aberdeen.

I think it was already passed. Seems like it was an oversight in the zoning bylaw when Aberdeen was first built.

A couple of Park Royal observations :

Forever 21 is gone from Main St in front of the South Mall. Looks like that area is really suffering with the recent loss of J. Crew, Town Shoes and now Forever 21.

Roots looks close to opening in the Village.
