Google Maps points to an area inside Caledonia Industrial Estates, a few properties behind the Shell Tims Wendy's that is there now. Quite a distance from the interchange for a "truck stop" if you axe me.

Indian owned property = cheap gas. This might make up for any minor inconvenience in access to the lot.

A few months back, when a map was shared of what land had been bought by natives for development, it includes that strip of land between the wendy's/shell and the highway I wonder if they'll fill up that entire empty block (visible in google maps/satellite view) it's a pretty large property.

My understanding is that gas is only cheap if you're a member of a reserve? I've bought gas on reserves before and paid the same price as off reserve.

I drove by there on the way home from work, and this is absolutely the property in question. There was lot's of earth moving going on as well as a Newco Construction sign.

Yes, the earth moving extended to the entire site, from Venture Drive all the way to the edge of the existing Shell truck stop.

It will be interesting to see what they have in mind. This could be more than just a "truck stop"

Hopefully this will clear the air a bit - I grew up in Moncton but am from the First Nation reserve (Metepenagiag Mi'kmaq Nation) that owns the land you all are referring to.

Also.. Aboriginals, Indigenous, First Nations are much more friendly terms as opposed to Indians, Natives. (No offence taken )

So, the Corey Craig group, that owns the Shell/Wendy's is expanding their location to a "travel center" which includes Tim Horton's and a new wendy's. They will also be adding amenities such as showers, lounge, fitness center geared towards accommodating Truckers. They will continue to own and operate on their parcel of land. On the Indigenous owned land portion, located directly beside the property, (Metepenagiag's Land), will be a Cardlock/gas station to be constructed which will synergize with their business.

All gas sales from transport trucks will be conducted on band land and will be subject to the taxation agreements, meaning all the taxes on these gas sales will go back to Metepenagiag.

As I understand, this will be for truckers/transports only.

This, in turn is estimated to be completed by December.

A previous post said the station would be a card lock system. Most of these stations, AFAIK, are used by truckers, as you need a specialized debit type card to access the pumps.

There is heavy duty land preparation going on at the corner of Frenette & Galloway in the Caledonia Industrial Park for the future relocation of Day & Ross from Mapleton Road.

The footprint is going to be huge!

Land has been cleared on the east side of McLaughlin on the block south of the Irving station. More condos?

They are now digging for the foundation of the new apartment building on the NW corner of Pleasant and Lewisville.

A huge amount of fill has been dumped on site on the south end of this building lot.

This will level the lot, but the amount of fill is such that this really elevates the terrain with relation to Lewisville Road. This building will seem a lot taller than four storeys.
