^ I think you meant that for the airport thread?

Is there any renderings for the two sites on 111 ave and 108st that have Daytona homes signs on them? I can't find anything but articles about the petroleum club demo...

I've been wondering about the Petroleum Club site myself. More importantly, where did that club end up moving to?

Yesterday when I walked by, I noticed more work being done at the old Pendennis (former UCAMA) building. Seems like something is in the works...

This article was published early last month and discusses the future of the building;

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/ukrainian-museum-grant-city-of-edmonton-teterenko-1.5166670

It states the Pendennis/ Kenmo/ Lodge Hotel building was recently purchased for $2 million by LEDR Developments. The UCAMA is no longer involved with the project, but LEDR is planning "to continue to create a museum space inside the building."

"Six groups in the city's Ukrainian community are currently working together to develop a business case to lease the space, she said. Any agreement would include the option to purchase the building down the road."

"Construction on the base building is expected to be completed in October, then work can begin inside to create the museum space. "

It's grown on me a little. Still find it bland & uninspired, like most Cidex product. But good for the area. The east wall is a travesty though, at least until the lot next door gets redeveloped. Whatever they do on the main level will make or break it

Heavy on the seafoam spandrel, particularly as viewed in that picture with the church in the foreground right.

It looks more white in real life. For me, I find it has way too much spandrel, it looks a little cheap and pre-fab. If they'd concealed or coded the mullions or used a polyurethane joint sealer instead of all that mullion it would look a lot better.

i quite like it although i'm really curious as to what the balcony detailing and colour will look like.

like the mclaren, it's well proportioned and well detailed using quality materials (even moreso given both of them are purpose-built rental).

i'm not sure i would have had the confidence to go with the "full black and white motif" but i think it's successful and i think it will age well.

I think I'm going to have to agree 100% with this statement.

I find the wall system for both this project and the MacLaren quite clunky, personally, not offensive but certainly not attractive. I can't say if it's a quality product or not but it certainly has a sort of utilitarian aesthetic to it. Good enough for rentals in Edmonton I suppose.

Although you say you don't know the product - but express an opinion ... what IS the product line being used and from what manufacturer?

it doesn't matter does it?

the opinion expressed was purely on aesthetics independent of manufacturer or product line or performance spec's and included the "i don't know if it's a quality product or not" disclaimer with the opinion.
