Knowing our city, any lighting will end up being the most boring and dull sort you can possibly imagine. Our skyline is so dark overall and I can't see such cool lighting on one of our buildings. Only solid prime colors. Heck even the SXSW building is just solid blue though we've seen it do some awesome multicolored pattern changes. Let's not even get started on the Fairmont, total disappointment.

Site plan #2 for the tower was approved. This broke ground because site plan #1 for the underground parking was previously approved. The elevations haven't been added yet. But it'll be interesting to see if the final height changed any.

Pelli Clark Pelli features this project on their website now. But they are only showing the same three renderings that STG Design and Trammell Crow have on their websites. I'd like to see higher quality versions of all the renderings they showed to the Design Commission.

Has this building been slightly downsized from 589' to 575'? I know it's hard to truly visualize...but, from those renderings, I would believe it is 575' over 589'.

Looks like Pelli is playing with similar curves in this proposal for Toronto:

The building permit that was issued states 589'. But it looks like we won't get the approved elevations until next week.

The final elevations were released today - pages 27 & 28. The lowest point of the tower is at 450' and the tallest point on the building is 1,043.5'. So that makes the height 594' (rounded) which was the original height IIRC.

Interesting. I'm not sure I'd like those as much. Their most interested sides are facing each other...leaving essentially glorified rectangles from other angles, except for the "crowns", of course.

Actually...The elevations on page 27 state the lowest level to be 451'7" with a max level of 1043'6" (or roughly 592'). Page 28 has a different set of numbers: 450'0" for the lowest level and 1038'11" for the highest (or roughly 589').

So, there seems to be a discrepancy in the provided elevations.

The Block 185 project is going to close one lane of Cesar Chavez for 6 months. It's already a nightmare at rush hour.

Worth it! Just more reasons to vote for Transit in 2020. Hope we go big!

Does anyone have a current photo of the site? If not, I work a block away and will have to walk all the way around Northshore to check it out myself.

Nice. It looks like they are about 1/3 of the way done with the digging.
