On another note - in summer, we really do okay for long-haul. LHR (BA and AC), LGW (TS and WS), DUB, CDG, FRA (AC and DE), AMS and ZRH in Europe (7 airports, two of those with more than more carrier), plus NRT and PEK in Asia. For a metro of just under 1.5 million people, how many other places can boast this kind of service?

I think we also got a Signature service to YUL for the summer on a 333.

Sunday is the only day of the week when all 3 WS YYC-Europe routes operate.

I agree too YYC is very well served for a city its size.

As for YYC-YUL yes a daily 333 will operate the route this summer. That’s mainly due to the Max Shuffle.

Makes sense, they need to put the 767's somewhere as the 787s come on line and replace the flying. Some sun destinations are an ideal use for them, I would also have to think that domestic use on YYZ-YYC/YVR would make sense to help reduce the impact of the 73M losses and also just because.

I think YYC-YYZ is daily on a 763 as well in winter.

Wonder what they'll do for YYC-HNL if the MAX remains grounded. OGG is going 789 but HNL is not. I suppose they could always force transit via YVR; not like there's anyone else on that route.

If the MAX remains grounded during the winter perhaps HNL could be covered off with some of the three additional 787 arriving in Q1 2020.

There is no Skyteam stop because WS doesn’t want to integrate with airlines they will never (on commercially viable terms) interline or codeshare pax. Airlines such as Xiamen, MEA, and Vietnam Airlines.

Anyone know how LGW, CDG and DUB are doing?

Also - some AvGeek trivia for me - I've been watching the planes at the airport (and also I'm in the YYC flight path) - it seems some days the planes approach from the south and take off in the north, and some days the opposite. Still over my house, but sometimes they're landing, and sometimes taking off. Any reason for this, or are they just mixing it up?

Runway selection is based on wind. Land and takeoff into the wind=better performance.

Landing and taking off with a tailwind is less desirable.

I thought MEA and AC had a significant partnership connecting Lebanon to Canada via Europe. Probably one of the few Skyteam members AC has a good relationship with and WestJet would not be a viable alternative.
