Agreed, developments like this would go fantastic with our old commercial nodes scattered across the city where old streetcar lines used to travel.

Things do come back around!

Just because something is newer does not mean it is better.

I love this photo. I am proud of Atlanta for giving new forms of transportation a chance. The scooter vitriol should be directed towards cars - they've been clogging streets, polluting the air and sucking money from our wallets for a hundred years.....big, expensive, inefficient outdated technology. New compact electric options are taking alot of car trips off the road. We can be open to it or be paranoid luddites.

There's nothing wrong with some classic architecture here and there. Might actually give newer parts of the city a little charm.

Cheetah being sold:

So apparently Cheetah recently received a $33 Million offer for their land and someone else came in with an offer 31% above the first offer. I am still trying to validate if Cheetah sold.

Another party actually offered 48 million...

In other news, per CB on twitter, condo and property owners by the Midtown Union development have been told that demo starts in August or September. Fingers crossed.

^Is that Peachtree Center TOD the official project or just a mock-up from when they announced it was looking for proposals? Last I heard it was just a 5-story building. Glad to hear it is something more substantial, if this is the actual project.

I don't know. Atlanta3000 found the image so who knows. It does say that this proposal was awarded the RFP. And its a 20 story design which is being built by the owner of Ellis Hotel next door with additions as part of the hotel as well.
