Don't have to be a geologist to tell that it's not marble.

Agreed. And TBH, I don't care if it's marble either. Was just making a point.

What a needless topic to discuss. Thanks Suburbia.

I don't know what it is, but they should name the product, "I can't believe it's not Marble"

I wish Jason would bring in recall legislation so we could collect the required number of signatures to vote out most of council and the mayor much sooner than 2021. We need to vote in people who are willing to clean out the vast majority of senior administration so we can bring in people who are in tune with the majority of citizens and reality. City has a ton of serious issues and those idiots are most concerned with sneaking in $100K+/year cycling and walking coordinators.

There are a bunch of people at city hall who need to get the boot. First off is get rid of the four flakes, that dumbass Druh Farrel, along with Carra, Wooley and Suburbia's bum buddy Nenshi . Give everyone who works for the city a 10% pay cut. Then we're moving in the right direction.

I passed the “public service announcement”, took a right at “marble” and now I ended up in the politics thread

Druh is the one who needs to go first, followed by Nenshi. Good news is that Nenshi isn't going to run again, and even if he did he'd lose anyway.

That’s ok. As long as Jyoti Gondek runs we’ll be in great hands.

Just to (hopefully) close this idiotic off-topic topic, the Elbow from Sandy Beach to the Bow has had a blanket warning for years. It has more to do with the fluctuations in level and the general low flow of the Elbow resulting in AHS's inability to ever confidently clear it as being "safe" wrt E.Coli.

As for the source, go to Sandy Beach someday. I think you'll find a whole lot more dogs defecating in and around the river than homeless people.

It's a combination of sources, but there is no shortage of homeless people hanging around the river. Just because they aren't at Sandy Beach doesn't mean they aren't elsewhere along the river.

Yeah, no doubt there are homeless people near the river. They're just not a significant source of E Coli. The initial post, like much of real source, was bullshit.

Honestly, if anybody honestly thinks that homeless people have contaminated the Elbow to the point of causing an AHS E Coli advisory, as far upstream as Sandy Beach no less, they're out to lunch.

People just need to get rid of these idiots next election. Someone earlier had mentioned a 10% pay decrease for city employees. Simple but effective, and would any of those employees leave disgruntled? Maybe, but who cares, don't let the door hit you on the way out. There is a long line of people who would easily take their place.

The AHS Medical Officer of Health had said it was due to animal and human deification, but sure - other complications may be contributing also.

Right, but those are homeless dogs.

It’s a shame such a nice River when going through K country turns into a sewage dump when it hits the city
