Careful who you ask. A forumer on skyscrapercity.com asked a worker about a tower under-construction in Baltimore. The worker told him it will be a 50-story tower. Instead it was a 25-story commercial and residential tower.

So we have Brookfield, Grand Ave, Hooters Towers (Not the official name but i doubt its better than hooters towers) all starting construction over the last 3 months or so... Nice

That sounds right to me. Also, I believe the developer of Hooters Towers is marketing it as "Fig+Pico".

I'm glad that gap is finally being filled in, but I admit I'd be more 'yes!' if the property across from it, on fig, were finally being developed. The vacant piece of land between a huge parking structure & the 7th Fig shopping ctr isn't as quite visible as the northeast corner of 8th & fig is.

There's action at the Hooter's site, but it's demolition, not construction. Also, I'm thinking that the 60-story Onni is on deck along with Hooter's and the 12-story Mack Urban hotel.

Good point, just demo at this point. Youre right, the Citizen M hotel on spring and 4th is under construction & Perla of course. I think the 60 story Onni will break ground early next year, but would love for it to start this year

I'm only implying that a "construction worker" is not necessarily a credible source.

I still find the tower too small considering its entitled to a lot more. Also do not like that the tower is removed from 8th and instead 8th street gets a glass-wall podium of nothingness. Put the tower on the corner.

I Ike that the tower is closer to the other tower.

I agree. The new podium is a definite improvement, however, this tower should have a MUCH smaller footprint. Build it on the corner, make it 60 - 75 stories tall and leave room for another tower on the other half of this lot. The entire block thats currently all parking, including the 2 parking structures should be, at bare minimum 6 towers, but with these stupid podiums, we'll be lucky if we get 4
