The other problem with the old walkway was that it was not handicapped accessible.
It was on a slight mezzanine above grade and you also had to climb a few stairs from that mezzanine to the walkway itself.
With the new central elevator banks installed during the renovation, that's the logical place for the elevated walkway - to best serve the handicapped.

Looks like the phase 2 renovation at Joyce-Collingwood station is now completed.
A notice posted today at the station says Grand Opening activity will be held at the West Station house on Monday June 17 from 3pm to 7pm.
West station house will be reopened on Saturday June 15.
Follows is a photo of the public art at West station house. The public art is certainly 'colourful'.

Looks good. That will be really nice when those trees grow up to around platform level and spread out creating some shelter.

Looks Mexican or South American to me - with all the terra cotta shades of colours.

the City is never a party. I've seen how this city works enough to know these things rarely work out.

Don't worry it'll be covered in bird shit in no time, er I mean, the birds will contribute to the art by decorating it.

People flock to places for Instagram pics. That alleyoop on Granville is very popular. You often can catch people posing for their Instagram.

Instagram is very popular, I've been to places here and overseas where people will literally lineup and wait for their turn to take pictures in front of a brightly painted wall. They refer to it in their vlogs and blogs as going to do a photoshoot today. LOL. Its taken very seriously.

As someone who works with black and white film I can't really say much as I seek subjects with depth, otherwise it's just photos with weirdly banded shades of grey.
Shallow subjects for shallow people? Kids these days. :p

I'd rather they paint on the station itself, break up the standard Damp Grey colour scheme.

This was the last from their 'big 7' list (Commercial–Broadway, Main Street–Science World, Joyce–Collingwood, Metrotown, New Westminster, Scott Road and Surrey Central).

...and paint over some of the formerly green elements that are now (dirty) white. Maybe we can convince them to do some painting when they add some missing up escalators to the Expo Line (Nanaimo, Royal Oak, 22nd Street and Columbia being key ones).
