I can't say I like this new livery. A partial image of an airplane on the tail of an airplane? When can we see images of trains on the side of trains, or ships on the side of ...well, you get the picture. Will they actually launch in December? Maybe we needn't worry.

“The airline on June 18 reiterated that its launch date is set for December 17 – a date first revealed in April – and it said that advertising agency Cossette has helped it craft its new brand identity.

That Quebec City-based communications agency helped Canada Jetlines create what the airline calls a “cheeky, rebellious identity system, as well as a brand promise anchored in the unapologetic and honest truth: ‘Flying sucks less when you pay less.’”

The airline was upfront in saying that “flying will still suck. There’s not much anyone can do about man-spreading seatmates, or tiny toilet stalls. But it will suck less when you pay less.”

Not a big deal. I haven't used a travel agent since the '90s. (They only make sense for exotic travel.)

I think most people think it costs more money to use a travel agent, when the facts are that it often can save you money. You do not pay "more" for their service, yet you get the assurance of someone that knows all the rules, regulations and options of multiple choices for travel.

I use a travel agent for both my corporate and personal/leisure travel and have been very thankful to have them to call when things go awry....or have them be the ones following up with insurance companies.

I would not say I take exotic trips, but again benefit from my travel agent being able to plan the best routes, connections and use of multiple airlines to get me to my destination.

Anyway...it is all a personal choice....but I for sure support and recommend using a travel agent...have always been super happy with mine. It is like having a trustworthy doctor or dentist or financial advisor. I trust the experts!

Looked on YQR’s website and it says 3 departures already to Vancouver? Aren’t we already at 3 a day?

All on Air Canada?

Last week, I looked on early September's schedule and AC only had two a day, but has three a day come early October.

Summer time has been 3 AC flights for the past few years, and then reverts back to twice daily sometime in the Fall. This is new to have 3 daily during the Fall and Winter as well.

Also, with the MAX planes being grounded, the schedule is a bit out of whack. I know a guy who works for AC Express, and he said it has been the weirdest period of flights since he's been working there, which is over 10 years now. AC Rouge out of Toronto, mixed in with mainline, and AC Express. Some days, they don't have the staff to service certain planes that AC is sending, causing a longer turnover for that flight than what should normally be expected.

I had a quick look further ahead in the schedule and they seem to be sticking to mainline 319/320 from YYZ-YQR. Then later into December it goes back to all E-190 service which is terrific! They have lots of room onboard compared to 319/320, and tons more room than anything Rouge! Thank goodness for that. Frequency is 3-4 times daily and seems to taper off to 3 times only in December.

The E190s were a lot better when they still had 34" of pitch right to the last row.

I'm really puzzled as to why we're not getting more service. I realize Saskatoon has a bit more traffic, but we must be the most underserved 1.3-million-passenger on the continent.

We've shifted most of our travel from air to road - it takes more time but with the fares for the places we've been going, it's actually made sense for us to drive and make a bit of an adventure out of the trip, exploring places on the way there and back. I wonder how many other people who have the choice have made similar decisions.

This year looks to be the first year I haven't flown anywhere since 2004. I only flew once last year (to London ON on business). Every year before that, up to and including 2005, it was at least twice.
