Must agree with accord1999 here. Even at a city level, when you think of observation / restaurant towers, there is really no real need for them, yet cities come to embrace them and hold them up as their calling card. The CN Tower, Eiffel Tower, Calgary Tower - all no different. At the end of the day, this "mansion" construction is on-going and is not going to stop, so let's accept that and choose to critique or complement it, but not ad hominem the billionaire owner. It is the same reason the Stantec tower was specifically designed to be taller than Calgary's tallest, and the same reason every now and again, someone here pushes for a new tallest in western Canada. Human nature - live with it.
