That’s not the final colour. It’s called a scratch called, it’s the first coat of stucco, and they don’t put any colour in it, so it’s always gray.

Apparently there is an advisory about the Elbow River because of too much fecal material / bacteria out-flowing from the Beltline likely from public deification: https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/news/Page15104.aspx

Divert all of it into BC. They don't want a pipeline, they can have a poopline.

In all seriousness that's awful. Too many homeless people hanging around the river area and using it as their bathroom.

Those aren’t needles Doug, they are feather quills. Next time you’re in Beltline, stop in at the optometrist.

Why is it that every group named "Friends of XXX" are against everything good?

Controversial $350-million project scrapped for Calgary’s Chinatown

Developer El Condor Lands has scrapped a controversial $350-million project for Calgary’s Chinatown. The developer requested the permit be cancelled at a hearing Tuesday at the Sub-Division Appeal Board.

The board agreed and withdrew the permit, meaning it can no longer go forward.

It’s being called a victory by those who have fought for changes to the plan for the last five years.

“The project itself, as submitted, is dead,” says Terry Wong, spokesperson for a group calling itself Friends of Chinatown.

El Condor Lands wanted to build two 27-storey high rise towers on a block of land between 2 and 3 avenues S.W. just off Centre Street, in the heart of Chinatown.

The towers were to house 519 condos and commercial property.

In addition, there were plans for a retail corridor and a 12-storey hotel.

Big buildings are usually a monument to a person, a company, a religion or a government.

Like seriously??
It's who posted it and the reasoning behind it. That's the stupidity he's referring to.

Sure lots of people build large buildings as a monument to themselves. There's Kim Jong Il, Donald Trump.....probably Stalin and other fine examples I'm sure.
