Have they started construction on this yet do you know? I drove through recently and it looks like they were giving 28th Avenue a big facelift, new sidewalks, streetscaping etc.

Wow that will be nice for Vernon!

Thanks for the new update! Glad to see that One Water is beginning to shoot up into the sky now that the podium is mostly in place.

I'm not sure if it's underway yet, my folks live in Vernon, When I call home this weekend I'll ask about it.

I know there was a contentious vote on this project not too long ago, but it passed by a slim margin

Community theatre and old RCMP building to be replaced with new 1200 seat theatre and 12 storey high rise by 2027 apparently. Read more here: https://infotel.ca/newsitem/demoliti...heatre/it62569

I’ve been following the civic block plan on the city of kelowna website. They’ve got a lot planned for the area. I hope we see a proposal for the new high rise soon. I know they want to start building the plaza pretty quick too.

Would be great to see some progress on the art walk continuation over to Queensway as well. Anyone heard the timeline on the entire project?

Ellis Parc

Demolition at 1469 Bertram Street, across the street from Brooklyn. This complex was sold last year. I don't think any proposal has been made for the site so far.

I've been reading back through the years in this thread today just for fun and to see how things looked 10 years ago. I saw the proposal for the huge hotel up at Big White back in 2015 by Berezan Developments. I remember when this was announced and lots of people seemed to be excited about it at the time.

What ever happened in the end? Was a proposal ever submitted or did it just fizzle out? From some Googling it seems they got heavily involved in Sasquatch Resort in the Lower Mainland around the same time so perhaps they concentrated on that project instead.

It originally was proposed and started construction pre-recession in like 2008. They built the foundation and parking structure at that time. It then went dormant until 2015 when they tried to revive it. But since then, no progress seems to have been made. There is still a huge, hulking foundation at the bottom of the Ridge Rocket chair. It reminds me of Lucaya... at least Lucaya eventually got built.

West Ave condo in South Pandosy green lighted, much to the dismay of nearby residents. The biggest opposition was not to height but the commercial aspect. The development appears to be on 454 and 464 West Ave, west of Pandosy St. and a block north of Sopa Square. To the east there's a dental office in a brick building and a Mexican restaurant in an old house so it's not the first commercial on the block.

I think one of the many concerns nearby residents have is the parking issues in the area, but they live in one of the most vibrant urban cores in the whole city, what else do they expect?

Anyone know if the Jenga tower is still proposed for pandosy?

Also, would anyone be able to get a couple of shots from the westside facing downtown? I'm curious to see what the downtown area looks like from that angle now!

The whole area around there has seen significant development and lots of retail & restaurant amenities built in the last while. I don't know how you can really object to a few more retail bays at this point. It's already super busy in that area especially in the summer. At this point if you're looking for the quiet area it once was probably the best thing to do would be to sell and take your massive profit you've made and buy in a quieter location. That area is going to get nothing but busier.

FYI, I just moved into the Apartments at Glenmore Central project (very nice, and fairly reasonably priced, incidentally). I'll start providing some photo updates on the wrap-up of the Condos at Glenmore Central, the Townhouses at Glenmore Central, and (as I call it) the Old People at Glenmore Central seniors' home that is still just a collection of cores at the moment.

Thanks for that, I never realised that was the foundation for it. Eleven years is a long time for it to left like that.

Haven't heard anything about the Jenga tower in a year or so. I'll get some shots from the Westside this weekend, have been thinking of cycling across the bridge to do just that!
