Agreed. The reason why many of us are "lost with all these new proposals" is that they are all roughly in the same height range, so none of them really stands out. Eventually someone will want to stand out, and the best way to do that is to have a roof height of at least ~1700 ft. Of course 1700 ft is still not megatall, but it's easy enough to add a spire to reach 1968.5 ft (600 m).
