From the Delta Hotel, with Hintonburg Connection and 1960 Scott on the left.

A few LRT trains were running this morning as well.

Great shots! I can see these babies rising from my drive over the 417 hill in the West end every morning as well. Neat to see so many cranes again as it's been a few years since we had this many.....and never this tall of course.

I'm on Transitway everyday and get to see Connection and Apogee going up, always difficult to get a good shot from a bus.

Thanks for the photos!

I don't know if this has been addressed before, but the latest Brigil promotion guide still refers to the 99 Parkdale as 55 stories high

I love how Parkdale is ripped up right in front - practically bottomed out my car - why does the city let this happen? Go to Toronto and NYC - cities are not ripped up the same way to accomodate developpers.

Crane is at it's final height. Almost looks a bit too tall for 32 stories... (Hintonburg Connection on the right)

It's going to look really tall from any angle. A shot from last night:

There are a lot of cranes in the sky in the Westboro / Hintonburg areas. Love it!

I just realized that I can see the crane for this, and for 1960 Scott from my office now (near College Square)...cool!

When all the planned and under construction buildings are done that area's going to look like a second downtown.

Sure won't feel like one though. Parkdale/Tunney's is such an awful pedestrian environment right now.

How tall is this thing now? Has it surpassed Ottawa's fabled 27 floor threshold? LOL!

I just spoke with Gilles Desjardins at the event he held at the Village Place Cartier, and he told me that the project would consist of two twin towers of 33 stories. Boy, this project is nebulous.

Alas. He said that the city would take years to accept the modification of his initial plans, so he opted for two twins towers. He also also said that he was looking for empty lots nearby on which he could make a 45/50 floors.

Just awful. So...in all seriousness...who can we talk to about this? Someone must've rubber-stamped the height reduction. A city official? Brigil? I don't know, but I'd love to have a friendly one to one convo with whomever said "another 32 storey stump is just what this city needs!" Somebody approved this.....I just need to know who and why....

They’ll still need to apply to increase it from 28 to 33; it’s a smaller challenge, but not guaranteed. The only justification I recall city staff had for recommending approving higher zoning for the old Rhombus site was that it was different from the height that was previously approved next door at 99 Parkdale (for Urbandale at the time), and proposed by Richcraft down the street at the corner of Lyndale (Alain Miguelez talked about having “drama in the skyline.”)

Some of y’all calling 100m+ buildings “stumps” are hilarious.
