This will never be built, which is unfortunate because it’s a nice looking concept. There have been many proposals in this area of the years, and each is met with strong public opposition. The current city council has weak knees, and is not willing to make controversial decisions.

Edit to add: I could be a tad too pessimistic...I check zoning rules and it’s possible to go up to a little over 100 feet in this area.

This current council has a history of turning down projects that were recommended for approval, so we’ll have to see how this one plays out.

This has been approved by Charlottetown Council on May 17th.

"Moved by Greg Munn, RM and seconded by Brian Gillis, RM, that the proposed site and
building façade plans for the proposed seven (7) storey, multi-use building consisting of
ninety-six (96) hotel rooms, twelve (12) condo units and approximately 4000 sq.ft. of office
space at 4A Prince Street (PID #841536), be approved."

As someone who vacations in PEI, I will definitely be staying at this hotel in the future.

An image of one of the apartment buildings being constructed in East Royalty. There are 4 apartments being constructed on this street at the moment. I believe there are 6 being constructed in East Royalty at this time.

I wonder if the site plan on the top left could be an indication of a highway exit if they were to eventually build an overpass on the bypass here. It wouldn’t be ideal but it would be similar to Wheeler Bvld by Home Depot in Moncton.

Not sure. There was talk of installing several over/underpasses along the bypass several years back. It's a dangerous area with lots of accidents.

No that the roundabout Liberals are out, maybe the province will consider bypass upgrades. As for that exit, I heard the province previously rejected it.
