To extend that discussion, Appalachia rears itself in New Brunswick and all the way to Newfoundland. This area of Gros Morne National Park is the last place that it bares itself.

Back when I spent 6 months in Lyon for school on the heights of the 5e arrondissement, I could see the Alps once in a while in the distance, but I had been told the Mont Blanc could also be seen on a clear day. It took a very long time, but I eventually saw it, 160 km away. I only say it once during those six months as the conditions never allowed for it again.
I think Mount Columbia would be visible from Rocky Mountain House (about the same distance from the Front Ranges as Calgary is), because it's at the same latitude and nearly straight down a valley from them. For us, I think it's impossible to see it from the city, maybe from the top of Brookfield or the Bow, but not from the usual views from the city like the NW and NE Ctrain.

We mainly see the front ranges and the ones right behind them, because the front ranges themselves are very tall at over a kilometer above the surrounding relief.

That last one has always been my favourite angle of the city, although 88 Scott has blemished it a bit.

Those are remarkable images of Calgary, wow.

With that last image of Toronto, I find myself further disappointed in the Globe and Mail building, it's just a clumsy mess of a project IMO.

Those last few Winnipeg shots are awesome!

Calgary introduced goats into the city's parks and natural areas last year to help with keeping the grass in check and I believe to help maintain the soil fertility or something like that? Either way, it's a very cool sight to behold

^Great Calgary shots! Edmonton started something similar too in the east-end Rundle Park. Whenever the goats are around they always seem to draw quite the crowd, particularly the youngins

I like those goats in the field with Calgary skyline in the background. That is something you would never see in Montreal.

Toronto

This is looking south down Yonge Street. Goes to show how much intensification is still possible in the core. One could add another 40 skyscrapers just on this section of Yonge before it fills in.
