Given that it would likely be the Province or TransLink entering into contracts with a joint venture in which SNC Lavalin is but one partner,

As for C, didn't TransLink make an announcement clarifying that point? i.e. the City wasting money...

When you're grasping at whatever straws you can in order to Stop The SkyTrain, I suppose you're bound to forget which ones you've already grasped.

At any rate, it's nice to see that the best they can come up with now is "do a study to make absolutely sure there's no corruption."

At this point I would be suspicious of the individual who might dare impose such an important and vital piece of infrastructure to the city. Like suspicious as in "I want them investigated for corruption" kind of suspicious.

Ironically, Councillor Hardwick is already under investigation due to a conflict of interest complaint regarding her activity with her PlaceSpeak business.

An official complaint filed to city hall about one councillor's apparent mixing of public role and private company.

The Broadway Subway is a project run by the Province. I'm not certain what the COVs aim is here to investigate Bombardier / SNC. More likely a politicians (not the city itself) worried about optics of supporting a project while both companies are struggling with their reputations and potential fall out from voters.
If the ultimate successful proponent does not involve either, I'm curious if these same folks will be as concerned for the ethics of those involved. My guess is, probably not.

Think "a politician worried about having a big, expensive Crime Train through her neighbourhood instead of a pretty little streetcar." SNC/Bombardier is only one avenue; she'll likely question again and again until (somehow) the whole thing gets shut down.

TransLink acquires two strategic properties on the Broadway Corridor

On the other end of the Broadway Corridor, in 2018, TransLink also purchased 2096 West Broadway — the Fletchers Fabricare property at the southeast corner of the intersection of Arbutus Street and West Broadway.

The laundromat property was acquired for $17.1 million, according to records.

The intersection of Arbutus Street and West Broadway is set to be the new western terminus of the Millennium Line when the first phase of the Broadway Extension opens in 2025. While TransLink says the acquisition is “part of a long-term investment plan,” they were unable to confirm if it is directly associated to the Broadway Extension, such as the site of a subway station entrance.

Doubt it. Works fine for the MTR, but AFAIK TransLink doesn't have the power to directly redevelop... and if they were given that power, the "conflict of interest" bulls**t might actually make headway.

Re: the station, the last few plans had it taking over the Rogers/Fido store and the adjacent Christmas tree lot.

Three groups have submitted proposals for the project.

The three teams are: Acciona-Ghella Joint Venture, Broadway Connect and West 9th Partners. It’s expected that the province will select a proponent by mid-2020.

Acciona-Ghella Joint Venture includes Acciona Infrastructure Canada Inc., Ghella Canada Inc., IBI Professional Services (Canada) Inc., DIALOG BC Architecture Engineering Interior Design Planning Inc., Mott MacDonald Canada Ltd., Ingenieria Especializada de Obra Civil e Industrial, S.A., Parsons Inc. and Corporacion Acciona Infraestructuras, S.L.

Broadway Connect’s team is made up of Dragados Canada, Inc., Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc., ACS Infrastructure Canada, Inc., Aecon Concessions, a division of Aecon Construction Group Inc., Dragados, S.A., Aecon Group Inc., Hatch Ltd., WSP Canada Inc., Dr. G. Sauer & Partners, VIA Architecture, Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions, a Division of Wood Canada Ltd. and SENER.

West 9th Partners is four divisions of SNC-Lavalin.
