Didn't the city of LA have to subsidize building the Wilshire Grand tower?

There's just not much demand for tall dense towers in LA

Wow, that looks awesome! Might be hard to appreciate from afar but from up close, the textures are very striking!

Pouring of Mission Street Tower foundation on 3/29 and 3/30. Should be fun to watch. In earlier updates it was mentioned the First Street Tower is tracking a few months behind. Should see foundation pour for that tower in the next few months too!

The facade is sooo slick. Straight outta the skyline shots from earlier Start Trek films.

This is easily my favorite skyscraper outside of NYC. Bar-none, best modern design in a while.

Looks like there's going to be trees in the crown? A rooftop greenhouse? That's a pretty neat idea. Is this building supposed to have an observation deck?

It's hard to get a good vantage point but it appeared to me they've done a lot since pouring the foundation mat on the shorter Mission St. tower:

It looked like there were a floor or several of concrete down there and I'm guessing this thing could be out of the hole by early summer.

Over on First St. the hole is just a hole as far as I know but they were pumping concrete into something down there while I was there:

Maybe it was for a base for a crane. Not enough concrete trucks on site for it to be a mat pour and I doubt they'd do that on a weekday anyway.
