I don't know why everyone hates on it so much, it's not perfect, but it's not ugly either. Very Burj Dubai and a bit over the top for Chicago, but who cares, the most diversity of design the better IMO.

Amenable property managers and a commercial insurance policy can open a lot of doors, ha. Made this shot of NEMA this AM, on a self-initiated scout shoot.

Imagining a blue-hour shot from up here when residents have moved in and the building is lit from within

I agree. And this mid-tier perspective that you have is probably the most flattering vantage point for this type of tower. The ones you've taken from the ground look very distorted when you Architecturitize it to keep the verticals. This one though, is extraordinary.

Thanks! Yeah, it's tough to shoot a tall, narrow building from up-close. The perspective gets so warped. I've always found that shooting from a tall building from 1/3 to 1/2 the height of the tower usually yields the best results. The overall perspective isn't as weird, and it can still soar above you for a good sense of overall height.

At this point, I really want it's taller twin to come to fruition. The apartment market is still booming. I hope it gets it's chance.

So, what are the real chances here? I never imagined this would happen.

If this building doesn't destroy the South Loop apartment market then I'd say the odds are good. The big question is if the South Loop sustain this, Essex, and Paragon simultaneously. If it can, that's a huge vote of confidence in going back for seconds.

I believe condos were definitely in the mix at the very least for the second tower, and townhomes would be the third phase right behind OMP and the Grant.
