My point is, the Ads have focused on how close the condo is going to be to "restaurant row" on King William. It makes it seem like the condo is on the same stretch when it's all the way down on the other side of King William lol.

This isn't a knock on the project, I hope it gets built. I just think the ads are a tiny bit misleading.

It doesn't matter if you live or work or both downtown, most of us know where this is and can decide if it is in that area. It's a strange assumption to make to tell people what's what. We know our own relationship to the city we love.
I understand you claim to not be knocking the project but it's advertising. It's misleading or irrelevant by definition.

It looks the same to me, just presented in the bright light of day from the north-east angle. The white wasn't as obvious or as striking as in this one:

Again, I'm not discounting the project. I'm making note of the constant ads that would pop up on my social media page that said, "Live on Restaurant Row". It's a bit misleading is all I'm saying.

You're quibbling over minutes though. 5 mins vs. 15 or 20 is a big deal. 5 vs. 7-8 not so much.

On a side note yes property tax revenue would increase dramatically but 80% of the increase is granted back to the owner(over 6 to 10 years) as a reward for developing the brownfield property and increasing the tax base. The owner gets a rebate of over $4.8M on his/her increased property tax assessment. Programs like this are overlooked when people comment that City Hall actively thwarts development.

Based on what I've read and continue to read in this forum, I think most posters are annoyed with the building height issue, more so than actual development and builds. The City does encourage development, it's definitely misleading for posters to see that they discourage it. The height issue is something they still haven't figured out.

Ya I can see that. A little bit of a different issue, outright development versus height. Hopefully we can keep building higher in the core.

King William is a good walking street, and will only get better with the new park coming at Catharine/King William and this new condo. It's exactly a 5-min walk at a slow pace from this condo to the start of the resto district.

Sure. I do walk that stretch almost every day and it doesn't take me five minutes. It's not far. However, did you ever see the advertisements? The ones I've seen advertise it as the King William restaurant row literally outside of the front entrance of this proposed development. This simply isn't the case. Is it a far walk? No. It's definitely not right outside of the building though. The closest restaurant to this development is Black Forest Inn. I'm just going off the advertisements that pop up on my social media for this site.

Time will tell... if it sells out, awesome , let's hope it encourages others to fill in the parking lots along KW with residential, retail and below grade or tucked away deck parking (need some for the retail and theatre).

There's a sign on Catherine St pointing in the direction of the Kiwi Sales centre. It has a price point on it and it's an indication that they have started selling.
