Best part of the country by leaps and bounds.

We got married in Tofino(she's from the Vic), and the weekend before I was out drinking downtown. I was in tears telling my best man how Victoria will become my new "home". I plan to live in Ontario for the rest of my life, but thanks to my wife I've adopted this place as the place I go to feel like myself. I even got my parents/aunt on the mindset of moving there for parts of the year.

Serious question, if you like it so much and feel like yourself there, why wouldn't you move there?

Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Well, perhaps this is an understandable reaction if you're coming from London, Ontario, anyway.

And don't take this the wrong way, welcome to the forum and everything, but...

You had an emotional reaction to a Canadian city not named Montreal? Really? That seems a bit far-fetched to me, but I guess there's no accounting for taste. I've been to Victoria, and it's an alright place, but for the life of me I can't understand how it would inspire this kind of reaction. Canadian cities aren't exactly paragons of pulling-at-the-heartstrings vibes and experiences. Save for Montreal. And maybe Toronto, though certainly a bit less.

But if you want it to become your new home, why not actually make it your new home? Wouldn't you be happier there?

Great density there, but the architecture leaves a bit to be desired. Probably one of the worst angles of Montreal for the quality of the buildings...

Took this last Sunday. Ottawa's new tallest, on the right, as seen from Autoroute 50 in Gatineau.

Is there still a height limit in Ottawa, or can you build as tall as you want if you're far enough away from the parliament buildings?
